In other words, Lawyers "hard at work" for some stupid reason because the music industry was not paying the artists for their songs, to where the internet came along and started file sharing of famous songs on the internet, and then there is always other "artists" sampling other artists songs. A certain situation was Napster, in so far as this act, and yet there was the "sampling" of David Bowie and Queen's "Under Pressure" song, and then Vanilla Ice (aka Rob Van Winkle) sampled the song and used it in the song "Ice, Ice, Baby", from what I understand. Kind of a stupid law, but that is what happened in my opinion. Just another way of wasting taxpayer money here in the USA. LOL
