I am a CarVlogger...

I know, I am not on the right website. Fact of the matter is there is no website. The #1 reason being that when you type in CarVlog on YouTube all you find is folk that hold their phone while recording themselves or have a mount on the dash (the smarter folk) facing themselves. As my handle suggests I am originally from the Netherlands and now live in Texas. I did in fact have a motorcycle license over there and rode a XJ900. Before that I rode a moped (Honda CD50, 4 speed, 49.9cc). In Holland mopeds are a rite of passage, the first motorized vehicle one can legally drive at 16 after getting your license. I have been in Texas for nearly 7 years now and haven't been on 2 wheels (with power) for that long. I miss it, but right now I can't get a license. I have a daughter and another (boy) on the way. The wife told me I can have a motorcycle license when the kids can remember me, which I respect. I thought the people in Holland where blind, but the people stateside manage to miss my Grand Marquis more than a few times.

I got the idea to CarVlog when I watched the videos by bakerxderek. I think he is an awesome motovlogger and always shows off the views in his area. I realized I did not have a motorcycle license, and know how much motorcyclists hate car drivers. But I still wanted to do it, be a part of a community that does not yet exist for car drivers.

I am not going to start a revolution overnight, but I for one want to be a presence on YouTube that shows that not all car drivers are the same / equal. I primarily drive my 2007 Grand Marquis. I also have a 2005 Mustang GT I use in my video's which sounds a whole lot better. I might get into other cars in the future, but this is what I got now.

I wish I could get my license here and ride with you guys. But I respect the wish of my wife and understand where she is coming from. So I got to row with the oars I have. I would love to know what you guys think, so give me some pointers if you have any!

As a fellow dutchman :) i will subscribe to you channel.
To bad we will have to wait 6 to 10 years for your first motovlog, but i can understand why you chose that option.

I can say i actually did a carvlog aswell

Man, I was afraid to read the first reply to my post. I am happy it's a positive one! Thanks for subscribing, I returned the favor. I'll watch some of your MotoVlogs soon, currently I am editing another CarVlog that has to deal with Clopen shifts. (Close, Open back to back).

Still, I'll keep the flame-suit on just in case ;)

You have one advantage, people here don't respond very often

Haha! I almost did a CarVlog today!!! Rain almost drove me to it (No pun intended)! Instead I just did a quick sit on the front porch! I have noticed the same thing as Meifesto, not a lot of people post here, but the ones that do have ALL been super nice, helpful and encouraging... If the car is the only thing you can Vlog from for now, more power to ya! I will check out your vids in the morning! (It is like 1:12am in Florida!) Good luck!

I am very grateful all the replies I have had where positive! Leave me a shout when you do, and if you have any pointers, please leave a message!

Yeah, I saw your introduction thread here and watched the first video! Just make sure to look out for those pesky speed camera's you got over there. I am happy that in Texas you have to be pulled over for speeding. In Holland I would average 2-3 tickets a year. Here I got 3 since I took up residence here. One every 2 years. Not to bad, and a whole lot less expensive too. (now that I have said this, a ticket is due within a short period, it seems every time the topic comes up and I talk about it I get pulled over for speeding).

Welcome! I'm new to the motovlog site myself. I've watched them for years but just got started. I'm sorry to hear you won't be riding yourself, but it's a story I've heard many times from parents I know...

Luckily my wife and I both agree we don't wish to have children, and she just got a bike of her own! :D

Looking forward to checking out your videos.

Welcome! Rest assured even if you're a carvlogger you're still welcome here. Once I get home from work I'll check out your channel, I've never watched a carvlog so yours will be the first.

I may not post much but I do read the forums everyday so if anyone ever needs anything then they can feel free to PM me.

I'm not strictly a 'vlogger' - other than swearing under my breath an throwing insults at bad drivers!

The only 'proper' vlogs I've toyed with have been in my car!

So if I get a say in it, you'll be welcome here!

Welcome to the community. I keep meaning to sort out my car setup for vlogging. At the moment, the only audio in my car videos is the radio!

Unkept: Wouldn't be an option for us I am afraid. Even without the kids there is still the problem that my wife is only 5 foot. I am 5'11" @ 180lbs so anything is alright for me.
Bloodkraze: The reason why you haven't is probably because all carvlogs seem to be featuring the driver instead of the road. But mine are different, I hope you like them!
NastyEvilNinja: I swear, and call out every cellphone user that acts retarded in some form. I got a vlog coming up where I give one an earful of horn!
TripleTwister: Maybe not, maybe it is. I just hope more drivers out there will follow my "lead" and start vlogging the way you should vlog. POV!
BikerSpeedTriple: It is tricky. If you want to go POV you're going to look like an idiot if you do it my way. But I give 0 f*cks, and just roll with a camera on the side of my head. Even went into the grocery store twice with it on my head. You can get those sun-glass cameras, but the audio and video usually suck compared to any of the action cam offerings.

Broke a 100 views too in just 2 weeks of CarVlogging. I hope I can keep it up. I gave myself a goal of 2000 views for my first year, so fingers crossed! I generated a backlog of a couple of days of footage. Today I did a vlog in which I mentioned independence day, but that won't be up until I bet weekend. But I anticipated that and vlogged accordingly!

It takes me a few hours to edit one 15-20 minute section of video. Sometimes it can go quicker. But I usually re-watch my stuff before giving it the final stamp of approval by uploading to YouTube. Those zoom things I do take a lot of time. But it's worth it, and I think the end result is great allowing the watcher to see the (for me at least) interesting cars.

My wife is 4 foot 11 inches.

Check, Mate.

We're lowering a Guzzi for her. I'm waiting on rear shocks now...

... but Harley does make some stock "super low" bikes that would work, if she likes cruisers.

My wife does NOT like cruisers...

My Girlfriend is 5ft even... She rides a 2006 Honda Shadow 750! She is on the balls of her feet so she can't back it up very well but she rides the hell out of it! We are getting it lowered two inches next month just so she can back it up on her own, but for the last 6 months she has owned it she hasn't had any issues as far as forward motion! She has about 5-6K miles in the saddle, not bad if you ask me! And yeah, the sporty super low version is short, but it would still require a drop job for a person 5ft and under!

That is great to hear. I was already saying we should get 2 of those honda grom motorcycles. Little 125cc ones to race around town with. Hahaha!
