Hello everyone, my name to you all is Dingle.
I'm 18 (19 soon), and from the West coast of New Zealand, but I'm currently living about 3 hours north of Brisbane in Australia.
I've always loved riding, but i never had a means of recording it due to lack of financial support for the gear until now :D
I have recently purchased a 2013 Hyosung GT650R and Drift HD (God bless these Australian wages :') ).
My favourite vloggers are the garden snake, and a riders life (i noticed peter hangs about on these forums :D).
a few keypoints to note:
- Drift HD is mounted right side of helmet, official drift mic is used when talking is involved
- I use sony vegas for my video editing, and photoshop for my stills. (albeit, very poorly. lol.).
- Working full time in parts, get to see some cool vehicles from time to time (like the turbo speed triple i've posted on my channel :D)
- I am a youtube partner
- I run a yoshi RS-3 pipe from a zx6-r, sounds mint!
My youtube channel here: https://www.youtube.com/user/Dingle182

Here is the video I'm most proud of to date, it has talk most of the way through, the most energetic, and contains my first clutch controlled wheelie (im still learning wheelies on my sports bike, nothing like my old dirtbike.)

Thankyou for reading!

After watching the video I'm not sure what to say... I guess welcome to the forum!
Why do you ride without gloves?

Welcome to the forum, i wont lie i feel quite edgy watching you ride without gloves all i can think is gravel and skin. All the same welcome

Enjoy and Contribute where possible :D

Without sounding like a knob, I can't sub to you till those hands get covered, gives me the shivers!!

Welcome anyway :)

Welcome :)

I saw the first ride vid you've got up but you wearing shorts scared me off before I even noticed no gloves. I managed about 20 seconds but the speed you were going on the dirt, and the lack of gear.. Thats Scary shit! Good luck with the vlogs and update when you have gloves and pants and ill be sure to sub.

If your against it, maybe a video idea would be to explain your choices behind riding without full gear. I'd be quite interested to find out your views on the whole subject

And of course, Please ride safe :)

Hey everyone! thankyou for the replies, and the subscribers!

a few things about my gear:
I do have gloves, they're a little loose and being leather, they make my hands hot, so i've been riding without gloves for the dexterity and to keep them cooler.
I dont have leg protection, I do wear jeans on my longer rides, but when I do my shorter rides i wear my heavy duty cargo shorts, but I don't like getting into corners with them.
But i've always got my helmet and jacket on!

and 66shinobi, i scare myself on the dirt sometimes! i amost managed to drop my bike on soft dirt like i have on some patches on my driveway, and i was barely moving!
I will do a video when i've got my bike fairings fixed up (dont worry, have crashed it yet. just had them off to fiddle with some stuff on the bike and fix a fairing bolt).

No excuses! Your hands are the first thing to hit the tarmac when you crash (statistically you will crash at some point).

Look at this post http://www.600rr.net/vb/showthread.php?t=90647

Now imagine what his hands would look like without the gloves, the road basically peels away your skin and flesh right down to the bone depending on your speeds. There is a large chance to lose your hands after an accident without gloves and then how do you plan on riding?

Welcome to Motovlog!

You really do need some gloves matey, you can pick up some really good breathable textile summer gloves for next to nothing on the internet.

Sometimes, they just have to learn the hard way.

Welcome.

As others have said wear gloves. I remember the state my hands were in when I used to come off my skateboard. Maybe some Australian/New Zealand motovloggers could give you some recommendations for gloves to wear.

Bloke at my local bike shop said to a gloveless kid on a scooter "run as fast as you can and then dive onto your hands"

No way, said kid.

"well that'd only be at 7mph. Wear gloves"

had a cheap pair of Icons on when I went down... both palms.... not a mark.. gloves took the hit. got another pair of the same cheap icons.. they don't have to be pricey gloves to work well.

(Icon Twenty Niner gloves)
