Hey, what do you guys think of the new Sena Prism? http://www.sena.com/product/product/prism/

I'm seriously considering replacing my Contour Roam with that. I'm assuming I can use a Sena intercom as my intercom/mic. That would result in less equipment on my helmet. And NO wires!!!.... Costs $400 but I think it'll be worth it in the long run. What's your thoughts?

As long as it looks like this ⬇️ with the handle removed, I don't think I'll bother.....

Hahaha Thats funy. Yeah I guess it kind of does, but much smaller. I'm gonna give it a try I think. I prefer contour cameras but since they got back in business, there has been no word of new product to be released, so I'm jumping ship to Sena. Just want all wireless

I can only think of this clip and Sena took it seriously, jump straight to 01:35.

Also, since when having a camera, bluetooth transceiver, 2 earphones and a microphone is having less cables and less equipment than having a camera and a microphone?
Let's count:
Bluetooth transceiver goes at the side of the helmet
2 cables go to the speakers
1 cable to the mic
Camera goes on the side of the helmet
You need to take care of 2 batteries for different devices.

Compared to:
Camera attached to helmet.
1 cable going from the camera to the mic.
Just one battery to take care.

It doesn't even have a microphone input to use a cabled mic and the quality of BT audio is horrible, it's the same as speaking over the phone.
Vloggers here can identify themselves with the problem that is keeping track of not only one but two batteries (any AT3350 users?).
It is a pointless invention and targeted at the wrong market. Unless you're vlogging with your camera attached to any point of your bike and want to vlog using the same camera, even that way it's pointless since you still need to have a bluetooth transceiver near your head, if you have it, why not use a sound recorder then which is better suited for the task?
The LED cannot be in a more awkward position, you need to know if you're recording, why put it away from your field of view and in such a place that is hard to even look using a mirror?.

We'll, if you're using an intercom to begin with, with or without a camera, then you can't really count the wires of the intercom. Plus they are I side of your helmet. I use an intercom regardless of recording or not. So having a camera that can just use what I already have in the helmet would be sweet.

If you already have a bluetooth device and a camera, the only physical difference is one cable. The one for the camera mic.
The logical difference is that there is a lot more equipment to go wrong when recording video.

I dunno. I just know that I'm in the market for a new camera and I do t want a Gopro. Right now I use my cellphone. So it's a pain to pop my helmet off, run into a store then have to set everything back up to get back on the bike. I love the form factor of my Contour but they are really taking forever to come out with new product

Have you checked the Garmin and Sony cameras? They have a more interesting gizmo built-in, a GPS receiver that you can use to overlay speed and other data into the resulting video.

The garmin does.... So does the contour HD but I need that external mic output. Contour does not have that. Does garmin or Sony?
I know that the Sony does have an external mic input but is gopro-esque, you need to mutilate the case to be able to vlog with the mic connected. About the garmin, let me check and get back...

Confirmed, the Garmin camera does not have an external mic input.

I agree. Since I've written this post, I've purchased a Gopro Hero 3+ which is soon to be my second camera angle once I purchase the Gopro hero 4.

I couldn't resist the amount of aftermarket support they have. I explain it further in this video.....

why I ended up with a GoPro3:

It's kind of hard for me to justify the Bluetooth audio back when the 4 just came out with built in bluetooth..... Hmmm, save $300 or get an addition view?

We live in a great time with companies competing to give us better and cooler tech. Love it!
