My hero 4 silver def has protune. I'm in love with this camera. Chin mounted and I routed a En187 battery extender through my helmet, down my chin strap and into my jacket. I can record 4 hours of 1080p 60fps with my WiFi remote without issues. Although my remote dies before the camera lol. I carry two gopro batteries with me so I can take the camera off my helmet at events and still shoot footage.
I use the HDR-AS200V with a bog standard helmet mic, both audio and video are superb out of the box. I also use an external audio recorder, XZoom H2N with a deadcat. Excellent bit of kit, highly recommended.
I have a Drift Ghost, Gopro Hero 4 Black, Gopro Hero 3 silver, and a Sony as100v. That being said I use the Hero 4 and the Drift mostly and with the same mic. Both sound great and I've had no freezing uses with any of my cameras. I think the issues come from bad memory cards.
I recommend the Drift as the #1 motovlogging camera to anyone who asks. It is the sleekest and is the easiest to use as it is just click on and go. I do however like the chin mount view so I use the Gopro a lot because of that. Drift batteries last longer though and the drift does well in rain even with mic plugged in without water getting in.
All of these cameras allow for charging while recording but with the Gopro you have to have the cable for the rear (battery eliminator kit) of the camera as your mic will be using the side port. With the Drift you have two separate ports to charge and record audio.
I only use the Sony and other Gopro for secondary angles so I cannot speak much about audio quality etc. on them.
