New Camera

And I'll chime in and say that the Black is worth the price. The quality difference with Protune and the extra manual options added with it turned on make a world of difference if you take advantage of them. Even just the extra bitrate of ProTune is worth the cost IMO, even if you leave it all on auto.

Awesome thanks for the info... so I may try to find a hero3+ for cheap or B and H photo do have pretty good prices on the 4 silver and black with some bundled items also... decision...

Ok guys narrowed it down to 2... I am between a sena prism for 200 or hero 4 silver for 340 with a remote... Which would yall pick?

I'm currently on the GOPRO HERO 3 Silver edition. I'm surprised the hero 4 gave you freezing issues :S

Usually they are the bomb!

Apparently it was a pretty big problem when they were new cause there are tons of threads on it... but I do love my session I have and gopro took care of me with it so I am happy to give another one a shot. I was looking at silver+ and their not much cheaper than a 4 so I might as well go that route.

from my understanding the prices is only about $200 difference from the Hero 3 to the Hero 4. The video's I do on the Hero 3 seem to be fine when loaded onto youtube. Makes me wonder if spending the extra dosh is REALLY going to make a noticeable different when it comes to how it looks on the tube.

I've heard mix reviews about the session! I wonder if I've just heard bad reviews from photography snobs. I just don't like how you can't wack an external mic in it. thats my only beef with it. Otherwise it looks like a nice compromise between the Hero 3+ and the Hero 4

yeah at retail but I have found a 4 silver that is on sale so its only about 60 bucks more plus it includes the remote so it's definitely worth the extra cash.

On the session you may have to look at later reviews, at 400 bucks with the original firmware it wasn't worth it but now that its 200 and you can change most settings on the camera it's well worth it. Footage looks awesome as well plus really easy to throw in my pocket and carry around not worrying about a case or anything. If it could use a external mic it would be awesome, I don't want to take the time of cutting and trying to match up audio from my phone.

aight guys one last question... Would yall rather get a hero 3+ silver for 244 or a hero 4 silver with wifi remote for 330?

Personally the 4 silver with remote. Video quality is quite a bit better and that remote is gonna save you some battery power and sd space, believe me.

To elaborate on this. The video quality of my GoPro Hero HD2 is better than my GoPro Hero 3 Silver+. (not in resolution, but in pixel density)

I'd say find a 3+ Black over the 4 silver, if only for Pro tune. And the remote doesn't save battery. It uses more because you have to leave WiFi on to use it. I have two remotes. They are handy, but know what you're getting. They are great for a remote display, remote trigger and syncing multiple cameras. I use mine sometimes, but not if I need longer battery life. The same for the GoPro app. Running either takes about 1/3 or your battery life away.

I agree with black 3 over silver 4, but the silver 3 is just sub par. It's odd, I found that selectively recording with my Drift helped me save my battery quite a bit... The app on the other hand doesn't, which is why I've got Wifi disabled.

Okay, got ya. Save battery since you can more easily start/stop. I can get on board.

so the Hero 3+ black with remote is 330, same price as the 4 silver... yall think that would be better? I plan to hook the cable up to charge anyway so battery isn't a huge concern.

Also is the 4 black a lot better than the 3+ black? I don't mind spending a little more if its a much better camera.
