Motovlog Youtube Channel

Motovlogger
is it worth Motovlog having its own dedicated YouTube channel members only that could be posted too? Just a thought

One for @dandoolittle really.

Depends of it's for everyone to post to, and how does it avoid being abused by all?

I suppose we could look at making a playlist of promoted videos and competition winners etc as an extra way of saying thanks to members.

Otherwise I think we'd have to get a raw copy and upload, which could then in turn cause copyright infringements down the line.

It's something I have looked into but the main thing is the content.... and if I'm honest, another thing I have to do and I don't have the time to be fair.

I'll look into it though. I want to rejig the top poster rules a bit going forwards so members get more exposure

I think this idea is really good. Thing is we are all working on growing our own channels why should the Motovlog.com owners/staff work harder on growing yet another channel? I'm all for it, but I think working with the site and tools they have now could benefit us as well.

Or if someone stepped up to put some compilations together every week or so and uploaded it with links to member's channels that would be interesting as well.

All of it is more work for whoever is involved and I know time is a precious commodity for all. At the end of the day I just like that there is a really cool community here that I can share ideas with and chat.

I think the best promoter for small vlogs are the big vlogs. like RJ, who has a 7month backlog on vloggers to promote.
Such a cool fellow. Hope I meet him someday.

Something I've been working on for ages.

Upside to the site is that most can pick up and gain people from the site. Subs blah blah

Downside is that most people want to slap up a video and that's it, expect people to visit then etc

Don't think there are many places where you can be in the community, rather than just be fed a wall full of videos and 'I'm awesome, sub to me' like Facebook groups etc

It's getting that balance right of allowing promos like post your videos but making sure the community survives etc

Hence why I made the promoted videos section. Sometimes life gets in the way so I can't always watch.

I think what the Motovlog.com channel should do is to make it only a content aggregation channel, rather than re-upload content.

@Marbro_za already does something similar with the Grumpy Bear Challenge where as long as you hashtag a specific word somewhere in your video description, it get's put up onto a playlist on that channel.

This way, after everything is set up, @dandoolittle really doesn't have to do anything. Users just upload to their own channel, hashtag it, it goes to the playlist where everyone looking at the Motovlog Youtube channel can see it, if they follow the playlist.

The only thing it can't really do, is push out notifications even if you sub to it, which makes it pointless since in this manner it's really no better than just posting it on Motovlog.com's video section.

But on the plus side, it does cut out a lot of the extra redundant effort by content creators to copy the video, create a thread here, link the video, and then submit the new thread.

That's the flaw right there I'm afraid. Non members can abuse

That's true, it kind of makes having a new channel kind of pointless then if we take that flaw into account.

It's the catch 22 of here to be honest

Three years ago it was a site spammed to death of videos but no community as such

I tightened the rules so you need 5 posts elsewhere in the forum before being able to post a video... reduced spam and we have the community

Trouble with a hashtag playlist is that non members can use the tag etc so that's blown out the water

The other is that competition, promoted videos will get added to a playlist but that's just something else we'd have to do etc

I'm thinking as I like the idea

I don't think adding comp/top poster vids would be an issue overly as myself and Marbro could add videos that we promote or deal with etc, hopefully it's easy enough to do on the app as well having said that...
