Lo and behold, TwistnGo magazine has an article on Parking this month. Clealry they are London focused, and state that you will get a ticket if you park in a normal (ie car) bay.

Interesting that - because up in sunny Scotland (!), I was parking my bike near a wall on an especially wide pavement and a traffic warden came up to me and politely asked me to park my bike in one of the car bays, but not to buy a ticket.

Gotta love consistency :roll:

there is massive inconsistency across the country

Try doing something in the US. There's so many different levels of government who all have their own powers, it's nuts. Some overlap, some don't, it can be hard to tell what's going on sometimes.
