I've already tried searching through a half dozen forums and trying every suggestion I can afford, but for some reason I still get popping in my mic whenever I talk. Even I talk quietly any sharp sounds (anything with a P or a K) blows out the mic. Here is what I've tried and my setup.
Helmet: Icon Alliance w/chin curtain
Camera: Drift ghost HD (sensitivity set to 1 bar)
Mic/s: I've tried 2 types,I can't link them because I'm new but they are easy to find on amazon if you search for:
Neewer-3-5mm-Hands-Computer-Microphone
and
the Sony ECMCS3 Microphone
The smaller mic has a windscreen but its not enough. I've tried adding felt and gluing it to the mic but even multiple layers still pick up wind noise and pops.
The other stereo mic I've tried the setup seen a youtube video, wrapping the sony mic in fake fur and making a dead cat mic, it makes it better but still not good.
I've even tried wrapping THAT in felt and still blew out the mic.
I've tried several mic positions: just above chin curtain, in front of the cheek pad, behind the cheek pad, by the nose piece, even by the corner of my visor. The worst was behind the cheek pad (lots of wind and vibration), and all the others had about the same quality. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, no one else seems to have this problem as bad as I do. Is there something about these mics that just doesn't work with the drift?
Thanks for any help you can provide, sorry for the long page.
