Looking For Tips: Eliminate / Reduce Wind Noise

So, what are you all doing to get rid of wind noise?

I have tried a few things. But, I can tell from several others' videos that I am not doing enough.

Some people use fake fur over the mic. I just use the foam thing over the mic that came on it.

I got a rear GoPro dead cat and extra foam on the internal mic, looking to wrap that with false fur soon.

Maybe close your mouth vent or look at getting a chin curtain?

I just added some super cheap foam covers from ebay. Works great to me.

You guys are having more luck that me, I've got the foam, the chin cover/curtain, vents closed, the deadcat. As soon as I get going my voice (unshaved pussy right in the mouth) disappears and all I hear is wind and engine. FML!
Next step is to ditch the $2 mic as soon as I get this Sena 20s mic coming in the mail.
That said. shouldn't there be some kind of software noise reduction coming into play? it has my mind in twists.

Yeah, but didn't work well for me - you lose a lot of engine noise with the wind frequencies.

Make sure the mic has a foam covering or dead cat.
Play around with your noise reduction settings; if any.

Make sure the mic isn't placed right in front of a vent or air inlet. I lost the foam piece that covered my mic but I barely have any windnoise. Unless you're going at 60+ mph ofcourse ...

90% of wind noise is to do with the fairing on your bike. Other than that most fixes can only correct minor issues.

Just keep moving your mic around your helmet, and you should be able to find some place that works for you. some people can get away with having it front and center. For me it's sitting inside my right cheek pad. I don't have any foam or anything around it and it's not an expensive mic either. good luck!

Yes, move the mic. If it's in the wind you will get wind noise. You have to get it completely out of the wind, not just try to filter the wind out. In the majority of cases no fur or foam will block 60 mph wind directly on the mic.

Make sure the cat is completely dead before use, some have used partially dying cats and did not work well.

Or just take your kids (if you have them) or wife/gf/bf winter wool gloves and cut the fingers off like I did and zip time them to the mic.

Don't cheap out on a microphone. get a decent mic and take care of it. I put my mic ontop of my chin curtain and it works well. Also, it depends what ur wearing for gear (or lack of gear). jackets made for riding will have a high neck collar and will help with reducing wind up through your helmet. If ur gearless or have a low collar, wind is more likely to funnel up into your helmet.

i put my mic in my cheekpad in my helmet and that seems to do the trick
