Looking for advice

Ok i got a couple of things 1 i edit my movies with Windows Movie Maker 2 i am using the Drift stealth camera
So i created a video and their are some things that need to be changed. The mic setting is very echoie so i think im gonna drop the setting down one and also their is a green line that shows up where the sun is which i think can be solved by turning down my exposure down. I dont know how to get the black frame off when its on YouTube i think its something im doing in the editing or saving the video.

I think you can knock down the mic sensitivity down 2 levels, I think I remember the black border being down to what file type you convert the vlog to. It's a great angle you have. I hardly ever touch the exposure, its too much hastle with the constant changing weather conditions, then on a dull day you forget to change it back up etc. Good vlog though and nice music selection at 5:00

Figured out the black border issue had to change the setting from 4:3 to a 16:9

I don't think the exposure setting is going to change whether that green line shows up or not. Make sure your firmware is completely up to date before you worry about the exposure too much. Almost all digital cameras have some sort of issue when pointed directly at the sun. Sometimes its a little line, sometimes it's a black spot.. Outside of the manufacturer doing something about it with firmware updates there's not usually a whole lot you can do about it.

As for the audio: Welcome to the world of the insanely sensitive drift mic settings. Getting it set up so that you're not blowing out the mic is probably going to be a bit of a bitch. There's been a lot of different methods tried with varying degrees of success.

Good to know about the exposure thanks and yea i have seen alot of frustration from other vloggers about the drift mic but when i click add to cart i was choosing to take the challenge haha

I hear ya, I still think that even with the audio shortcomings it's the best vlogging camera on the market. Personally I got tired of trying to rig something and went the technical route. $50 and a -10db pad later and I've got nearly perfect (if bass-less) audio that occasionally gets scratchy. A little bump here and there with the EQ before rendering fixes all that though. Some people muffle the crap out of the thing and then crank it sky high in post processing, but that's going to require some more work there too.

I think your first step should be to dive face first into a more powerful editor than WMM. I don't know about the newer versions as I haven't used it in a few years, but I don't believe it will let you play around with output sound levels. That's where you're really going to find your answer tbh.

I have sony vegas pro 11 but i dont have the slightest clue as to what im doing on that thing haha so i have been sticking with WMM just for the fact its easy most of the time

Whenever you want to know how to do something in Pro 11, search for it on YT. There's a LOT of tutorials out there that will teach you damn near anything.
