London To Stonehenge.

Ey Englanders! I'll be in London from the 30th Mar to 7th Apr and will be renting a CB500 Hornet while i'm there (probably, if they still have it, otherwise a YBR125)

Anyone think they'll be free on the 4th Apr (Monday) and join me on my ride from London to Stonehenge?

I'll be free on April 4th! But I don't live in London. But this post gave me a great idea; My next video will be titled "Home to Petrol Station".

You should start paddling from your little island to the bigger island across the Atlantic and Pacific.

Anyway, I might probably shift the date to 3rd April (Sunday) if there are anybody free. Probably everyone who can ride a motorcycle is most likely a working adult that can't get away on Mondays.

But if nobody joins in, I'll just set out on Monday instead and reserve the Sunday for lunch/dinner with my non-riding friends in London :P

Riding the area of stonehenge can be quite nice.
The couple of main roads are littered with tourist and busses ;)

I'm going further than Stonehenge as well. My final destination is the Bovington Tank Museum, after which I'll spend a bit of the day there and head back to London before iit gets dark.

Search DVDFGlenco on YT, he went there and a few roads round it a couple of summers ago if you want any ideas. Drop him a YT message if you have any questions, he's an amenable guy.

If you want a nice fast route but off the motorways, head off onto the A30 at Popham airfield (micheldever) and take this road to Salisbury, head out past old Sarum to Amesbury and that will bring you out to Stonehenge

I'm planning on sticking to the A303 just so I don't get lost. Also would rather reach there a bit faster because I have more in the afternoon to do haha.

I live in Bulford, about 4 miles from Stonehenge, stay off the A303, especially if your on a 125. Not sure if im about but could meet for a coffee.

I'm renting a Hornet, the A303's fine. Using the CB125 is really a last ditch resort if the store has literally nothing else left. I checked up on the UK speed limits and it's 90kph on motorways anyway, not a problem.

If you're free we could meet up :) Could message me on my FB page : https://www.facebook.com/ReizePrimus

Ill be carrying Wi-Fi, and living at a friend's house in London so could probably catch me online :)

UK speed limit on a motorway is 70mph (112kmh) and on single carriageway roads where no other speed limit is shown, it's 60mph (96kmh).

Built up areas with street lights close together is likely to be a 30mph (48kmh) area, although this is normally shown on a sign as you come in to it.

Loose conversions:

mph. Kmh
70. 115
60. 100
50. 80
40. 65
30. 50

Watch out for yellow boxes on grey posts, they'll be speed cameras and I'm not sure where they're at in sharing information at the moment!!

In the main, use common sense, stick with the traffic flow speed and slow down if you're in a busy town with lots of people about as jay walking isn't illegal here.

Thanks for the info Lurch!

You guys still plink coins on those weighing scale looking thingies to pay for parking like in Mr Bean tv shows? Or have you guys gone totally cashless?

Cash or card in most of them these days. A lot do pay by phone, but you'll spend longer trying to get through than you will actually parked up.

A lot of bike parking is free these days, but do check.
