Is it man enough?

Hi I'm in need of a little advice, my mum recently brought a laptop it's a compaq cq58 it's got a AMD E1-1200 APU with raedeon 1.4GHz processor
6Gb ram and 64bit ??
She does t like it for what she wants (she only browses web and the occasional word doc) and it has windows 8 which she hates and doesn't understand. I said I'll swap her for my 3 year old advent Roma.
My question is is this compaq man enough for running the standard vid editing stuff smoothly as my current laptop takes 1 hour to import a 30 min 1080p file to the editing stuff and another hour to save it :s

Is it worth the swap (will obv give her some money as well

Chances are that you will still have the same sort of problems. Laptops aren't really built for the major workloads of video editing and top-end gaming unless you buy a proper gaming machine. The laptop you are considering is a notebook, which is mainly for internet, email, and Office applications.

But it may just be a tad faster than what you have. Why not plug in your card with a file on, transfer it over so it runs from the hard drive, edit, render and upload and see how it goes? While you're waiting, have a cup of tea with your mom, or bake a cake?
