Sorry for the HUGE bump but just wanted to post a little update
The scooter thing finally happened, last September i think it was. And got it for free too
So here's the story of how I got it home

(sorry if it's long and boring

)
The day I picked it up at my dads place the center stand snapped off when my dad took it out of the shed

That kinda sucked because I had to ride it back home ~80/90ish km (~50/55 miles) so If I would need to stop and get off, it had to be somewhere I could lean it against something. Also the speedo and fuel gage don't work.. well.. the fuel gage only when it feels like it :| It had a full tank when I left but I knew that about halve way I would enter a 'in the middle of nowhere' bit... so to be sure I wouldn't run out of fuel I tried to find a gas station, which is pretty hard on a Sunday.
Anyway, I left kinda unprepared, I knew most of the route I had to take because I had taken it many times, but that always was in a car. I figured I could take most of the same route, but not the highway part. I did have a navigation app on my phone, but since it only does car routes and you can't take a scooter on every road, it was a bit useless (in The Netherlands you can ride a scooter on some roads and have to take a bicycle path on others).
So I found my way to the highway because I knew there was a bicycle route next to it, but when i got to the highway I had to venture in to 'unknown territories'

Luck was on my side as I spotted a sign that marked a 'scenic' bicycle route to the place I had to go were I knew I could cross the highway and get back on the known route home

But then luck turned against me as I came to a closed road, they did put up signs to follow an alternative route, but somehow I either missed one and took a wrong turn or they just stopped half way, so I got a bit lost. I tried to get going again using Google maps and after taking a few more wrong turns I finally found my way out (got lost in a village with very confusing roads).
I was about 2 hours in when I finally arrived at the place I could cross over the highway and was about to enter the previously mentioned 'middle of nowhere' bit so I had to find a gas station, just for peace of mind and make sure I wouldn't get stranded.
When I arrived at the gas station there were a bunch of bikers there with big BMW GS bikes, and I felt pretty stupid with my tiny 50cc scooter and looked even more of an idiot when I struggled to get the buddy seat open to put the gas in while keeping it upright with my leg, they were looking even more funny at me when I had to lean it against a pole to go inside and pay. But I guess they would be jealous if they knew I only had to pay like €8,- for a (well almost) full tank
Anyway I finally found my way to the known route and with a full tank I knew I wouldn't get stranded

From there on it was a pretty easy and very boring ride for the last 30ish km. Almost went down a couple of times because of wet leafs and once because I somehow got off the road and in the grass, but managed to keep my calm and recover, but my heart was going like crazy
I guess I did the trip in about 3,5 or 4 hours and just made it home before the sun went under

It was my first time ever to ride a scooter, so I really wanted to make it home before dark.
It maybe wasn't such a good idea to do a long trip like this having never ridden a scooter before, I did ride a motorcycle during the trail lesson but that was totally different and somehow I felt more save riding a motorcycle for the first time ever than riding a scooter for the first time :?
Compared to the (long) trips most riders here have taken on their motorcycles, my trip seems like nothing, but in my opinion it was quite an 'adventure'

Seen pretty landscapes, had some hairy moments but enjoyed every second of it and felt proud of myself when I got home
So I would like to get in to the whole vlogging thing, but hope it's not going to be too boring for people to watch a dude on a scooter. I bought a used Sony Bloggie(/Webbie) camera off of a auctioning site for only €40,- I know the video quality may not be the best possible but it's a nice and not too expensive solution to get video and audio both at once
I look forward to -hopefully- post some video's pretty soon
Thanks for reading and hopefully it made some sense
