Highest Quality Smallest Space?

Site owner, lovely and adorable
I've always exported as MPG, not sure why but habit I guess.

Whats the best (PC) format for the highest quality but having the smallest file size?

i always use MP4, i consider the file sizes manageable...also have to consider render settings (constant bitrate vs variable e/t/c, check out the bitrate thread)

That tomboy finally bought a dress yesterday :D - I had a friend of the family help her because she has no style ;) . She'll wear it tonight to my brother's "gender revealing party" (yes, I'm going to be an uncle... strangest party I've ever heard of :o ~).... I can't wait to see everyone's reaction :p !

I export 720p 30fps 8Mbps video. YouTube still says my stuff is not optimized but I honestly don't care. It looks fine on my channel. YouTube lobs a few megs of bit-rate when they "process" it anyway.

Weirdly enough I always export to WMV from After Effects. A 5 minute vlog generates about a 200mb file that is as 1080p as can be...no pixels or weird artifacts. Great quality and fast uploads!

WMV, yikes >< ! Micro$oft :( . WMV is almost a thing of the past now-a-says, isn't it :o ???

No offense or anything ;) .....

Hahaha none taken man, its all good...and I feel ya, but the quality is great and youtube makes a mp4 of it anyway...It seems to keep alot of the original quality in the process :)

Use the H.264 codec in a .mp4 container. For motovlogs 30fps is fine...60fps is overkill unless it's motocross or fast action. Don't change the frame rate, YouTube likes to have it at the original rate. I've tested and 15Mbps is fine for 720p. Here's YouTube's Advanced Encoding help page which I've found pretty useful.
