Hi,
I have just registered to this forum as a producer of a #motoeye app for iPhone (working hard to finance the Android build). Hoping to learn some from you vloggers as a biker and video editor. App is free and feel invited do download. I wish you like it...
Best to you. Be safe,
Adam

Hi,
I was just watching your summary after one month 011 :)
When I first bought a bike, about three years ago, I wanted to register everything I do on the bike. I have told my friend about it and it happened his friend was a programmer. So we ended with a project called motoeye. This is an app where you can register all of the data from your iPhone modules along with a GPS route. You can, of course, record a movie or even shoot a photo when needed. App is to be kind of a companion of a biker and it has a navigation with offline maps and weather forecast for the next day. It is mostly set to be a diary not to forget about nice rides but I use it also as a ride recorder or an insurance in case of a crash. We were working on so many stuff by now so it's hard to summarise it in a short post. We want it big but there are three of us and we have limited funds to make it all at once. It'll slowly evolve with help of engaged and curious people like you :)
We wil have webapp and editing capabilities but it is a distant future for now. We were experimenting with a gpx export (it is included) and gpx import (not yet inside, but working well), there were some tries about live positioning and went well (need to implement a groups as you do not wish to see all the people in the world using motoeye at he moment :)) There is going to be newsfeed quite soon, I hope. Subscriptions for storage and possibly triggering a GoPro (or maybe other wi-fi cams as well) from the app directly to straightening the sync procedures. Lots and lots of stuff sits hidden in our heads :) We'll do them all, but we need strong userbase to convince investors :) It's not so easy...
That's about it for now. Do not feel offended with my english :D
Best,
amm

That sounds like a great idea! If you can get it to record just audio from a mic without the video, I know that would help a lot of vloggers who have issues getting good quality sound recording.

Long term, you may want to look into integrating routes from here into it: http://www.bestbikingroads.com/

It would save me manually adding routes to a map tool :p

I didn't test the mic in the ear plugs, but it should work, sound is registered along the video so the mic as a source should do the job.
GPX export/import will save some manual work I hope. they have the GPX's available so you should be able to do it as soon as we add the import - it should be very soon :) All you need to do is to save the GPX to the Dropbox paired with the #motoeye app and import it as a track you want to ride... An app will guide you from your location to the first point of a GPX and then through the saved route.

I'am not sure now, but it was build to do so and even play the music in the background if you want. The only thing with higher priority is the phone call - that halts the app for the time of a conversation.
