Hey you guys! Mansfield, Notts area, new Vlogger

Hi, My name is withabitofginger, from Mansfield area of Nottinghamshire, UK.
I've recently started vlogging, and decided to for fun, as I already own a Helmet cam (contour HD) but plan on getting a different one in the future so that I can get an external Mic.

I'm a friendly guy but can be very opinionated at times, and only back down in an argument if the missus tells me I'm taking it too far (hehehe). I'm sure Ill get to meet some of you over this new year (2013).

I'm fairly new to motorcycling, but not new to motors in general. I have owned several cars, one of which I rebuilt the engine for, so I'm happy to tinker away with a bike if I need to. the other half is a petrol head too, but not a biker... she owned a honda S2000 when I first met her... I'm a lucky guy... you don't get many like her!

I passed my Motorcycle test on 21st July 2011 and owned a Kawasaki ZX6R (my first bike was a HONDA NSR125)

I had a major Accident back in Sept 2011, have got memory issues and nerve damage to my shoulder (more info on the crash on my youtube channel), however this hasn't put me off Biking, it's probably just made me less tolerant to other road users who do stupid, dangerous and Illegal things while operating their motor vehicle or pushbike.

I'm currently waiting for Money for another bike which will most likely happen over the next couple of months, however for the time being, I'm without bike :( and yes, the other half doesn't mind me getting another bike.

you'll often find me riding out and about with my brother on most of my videos, however I am always looking out for new riding buddies, and maybe I'll get to meet some while Vlogging.

I'm not a massive beer drinker, but will have the occasional pint! I am into photography (currently own a Canon 7D - another cam that is used in my vlogging!), Don't have kids (at my age is very unusual for someone who resides in the mansfield area)(hopefully soon, that will change), have a German boxer , two cats and of course the otherhalf too.

I do have, at times, a very dry sense of humour, and I'm always up for trying new things!

I think thats the most of it covered, except that I have never had a Digital rectal examination (yet).

Nottingham is a dangerous place, I hear there's some crazy bloke hooning around on a Tuono V4 :shock:

Nah, I carry a knife and have several guns! To quote Hot Fuzz "Even peoples mums is packin' round 'ere"
 
nah its not that bad where I am in mansfield... we're much more neanderthal than guns.... we're still using sharpened sticks and flints... we really must get with the times and join our much more advanced lot in nottingham.

being honest though... I've never seen a gun yet... heard lots of stories etc but never actually seen one... I have had a loaded crossbow pointed at me once before... all because a guy (the crossbow armed guy) kept blocking access to an elderly disabled guys (my old mans next door neighbour's) drive... wasn't anything to do with me, I was unfortunate enough to be in the wrong place at wrong time... the bloke was dense enough to stash his drugs in the outside bin, in full view, while we were waiting for the police to arrive.

I'm a nice guy though. dont like to get it trouble... but it seems to happen lots!

I'm hoping there'll be a few notts guys here! cant wait to get back on the road. hopefully my vlogs will take off when I get the money, so that I can vlog my bike buying antics.

There's me, MattVsLife, Roadcraft Nottingham and TheKatanaKid91 in Nottingham.

There might be more but I don't know of them at the moment.
 
Welcome, that was a heck of a autobiography! :-)

So another addition to the Nottingham group (even though I've not met anyone yet..)

and Dave, all the Tuono gets at the moment is loads of hugs and sad faces, I wish these damp, salty roads would f**k off!
 
Hi, I'm sure we'll meet soon enough!

I've been to look at a triumph daytona 675 today.... only to see if I like it in the flesh (i like pics of it, so why not check out the real thing?)
and the verdict... I like it. It's a little bit thinner than the last bike, but it is a triple, so to be expected! the only thing I'd change is the seat... it was like sitting on concrete! I like softness on my bumcheeks thanks! I'm sure triumph do a gel seat for a few quid tho.

so now I'm just waiting for an interim payment... it was asked for a month or two before christmas, so hopefully wont be too long a wait now before I can get out and see some of you guys...(I'm off uni due to crash so got lots of time to come and say hi)

I've seen some of your vlogs too... quite informative! I'd love to have a Diavel like yours, but I do feel that I'd only be i) able to get one after final settlement ii) spending silly amounts when I'd be happy capping my spend at approx £5k

so I think the diavel is going to be something I get later in life.

Sorry to hear about your crash, I had one a few years ago that caused some memory problems and slight character change, I was lucky it wasn't too serious :P

Hope you get back out on the bike soon, the Daytona is a gorgeous bike and I'm seriously considering one as a next bike.

Edit: Having just seen your vlog about it, my smack to the head wasn't anywhere near as bad as yours, hope you get all fixed up soon mate :)

You're everywhere.... YouTube, twitter, here lol can't keep up. Yeah I'll be fine eventually. The other side have made offers to settle already, but I've not started any treatment yet, and I've been told to give my shoulder 18 month... I'm only at just over 15 month. So I can't accept them offers yet.

It's too up in the air at the mo, with my shoulder as is, I can't return to the studies I was doing, due to a lot of manual handling and patient safety. And with only a couple of month to go until the time comes for them to tell me the shoulder is buggered forever, I can't see it magically getting better as there have been no signs of improvement to date. Gutted about it to be honest, but there's no point getting hung up about it.... Can't change what has happened.

In a way it doesn't seem real to me, it's like it hasn't happened, other than the slight memory of lying on the road. It's hard to accept that it's been a close to death accident, it feels more like I just fell off my bike... Surreal I tell you!

Glad you seem ok now though... There's hope for me yet!

Thankfully I have a loving other half who will let me get another bike!
