Hi
I run a vio pov 1.5 into Sony Vegas. Renders are sometimes very slow and sometimes playback is jerky for editing, etc, esp when upscaling the video size and running some filters.

Im running a basic homebuilt PC that I dont want to replace as its spot on for 95% of everything I do.

Its an AMD dual core processor 5200+ 2.7Ghz and im running the on board graphics referred to as Nforce 6100-430, I have 4GB ram.

Question is: If I install a graphics card will it make a marked difference or is it the processor that determines the speed of processing??

I was thinking of something like this:- http://www.amazon.co.uk/VTX3D-Radeo...1_3?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1336477848&sr=1-3

Would it be a worthwhile investment, I dont really want to waste £28 but then again I don't want to replace the motherboard and processor.

Your thoughts please and constructive comments, also recommendations re graphics cards to match the rest of the system, I dont see any point in having the worlds fastest graphics if the rest of the machine lets it down, I guess its all about balance.

Its down to processor and amount of free ram I have discovered that improves preview renders with premier I would guess its the same with Vegas. Unless your using 3D a lot ;)

Thanks for that . Ill save up and get a quad core motherboard, cpu and memory bundle, or live with it...

yeh i have a QUAD WORKS FINE M8 AND 16gb OF ddr3
GOOD PLACE FR PARTS IS ARIA.CO.UK
they have weekly deals and day deals
i always shop there :)

Look in the options to see if you can allocate RAM to help render and also allocate GFX card processing to help rendering. That would help things out.
