Someone shared the case that has a slot for the [damn f**king annoying] microphone adapter, so I went ahead and got one.

Reason:
1. I didn't want the hassle of some temporary fixture of the mic adapter to the helmet shell.
2. I didn't want the hassle of figuring out how to route the cable, and the mic adapter cable is large thick and not so easy to bend/twist.

Initial thoughts [prior to any testing yet]:
1. Case quality seems good.
2. With the setup I did [see pictures], the front feels heavy now [thanks to the mic adapter].
3. Not sure about how water resistant this will be, taped up any exposed/unused port.
4. Case does not have lens protective cover, worried about stone chip/crack the lens.
5. Plug and play to my existing wiring setup from the Hero4, no re-configuring needed.

Future tests to do:
1. Test out how the mount performs at speeds, with the added weight on the front.
2. Test out how the setup works in the rain, cause I don't keep the cam if the weather gets wet.

Looks like a much more efficient setup than velcroing the adapter to the side of the helmet. I'm actually considering going this route rather than the separate audio setup I use now.

The lens of the GoPro has its own replaceable cover built in, so I'd not worry too much about the case not having one as well! :)

Cool case!

If you worried about waterproofness, use Silicon ear plugs, they are made from a easily malleable Silicon and can be molded around the ports to make them more waterproof.

Thanks for the feedback.. I didn't know the lens was replaceable, how much is a replacement lens though?

Silicone ear plugs.. Will check that out too.. Currently running with the setup doing tests, have to say it's does put some weight to the front and giving some neck aches.. Haha.. That just means I need to build more neck muscle endurance..

Edit: The mic adapter fits pretty snug in the slot, but just to be sure, I tape a small strip of double-sided tape so that it wedges the adapter more securely and can't pop off in case I turn my head at high speeds. I doubt it will do that but just to be safe.

I don't think I have ever managed to scratch one, and my cameras have taken out a lot of high speed bugs and even been ripped off my helmet when crashing my dirtbike! :)

Yes, i have the same case also, but with that, i can not use my ND filter, so i changed back to the simple case, and i removed the microphone also. I just use the Gopro mic, with foam like on the picture, sometimes mono, sometimes stereo, sometimes with gopro choose..Im still testing, when is better. On mono very very little the wind noise 50-60km/h. Me i dont go faster in Bkk traffic, and motorbike also unable to reach more... :D
