Gopro Hero 5 Black And Sena

Hey all,

Anyone tried to get the Hero 5 to work with their sena? Don't really want to use an external mic setup and would like to get intercom functions recorded as well.

Let me know if you have any ideas, sena said the audio pack won't work on the 5 currently and nothing in the pipeline.

and the hero5 comes with built in screen so no way to mount backpac on it.. maybe gopro or sena will make a bluetooth usb attachment.

As I heard the Garmin Virb Ultra works with Sena via bluetooth.

you can, but not the existing mic adapter. They changed from mini USB to USB C, so they have a new, even clunkier adapter that looks like it also does power in also, but it sold out as soon as they released it.

Yammi Noob brought up a point during one of his recent vlogs that it is well worth it to record audio externally than through the gopro simply so that when changes like these happen, you are already set. I seem to be growing more to the idea because I was riding the other day when it started to pour, and I felt it necessary to stop and take off my gopro because even though the new one is waterproof without a frame, the usb-c and mini hdmi ports are exposed to the elements, and in that case, I would feel more comfortable recording externally and I could even continue to vlog through the rain. That's something to consider, but to each their own. The new adapter is bulky, but it doesn't really bother me. The only thing is that I'm considering is putting a velcro strap on the bulky part and attaching the other velcro pad on to my helmet. Other than that, those actually complaining about it's new size are just being needy lol

I have a hero 5 with an external mic adapter setup, its a brick lol I have a pic of the setup in the photos section if you want to get an idea of how big it is.
