Giveaways On Your Channel?

Interesting topic....

I did a giveaway at 5k subs, more so as a thank you to those who have subscribed. I don't think I noticed any change in number of subscriber frequency because of the giveaway.

Wouldn't mind doing another in the future, but not sure what I would give away...
Tell us about the giveaway! How did you hype it up? How long did you advertise it for in videos leading up to that? What did you give away? What did you require for people to enter? How did you interact with your fans?

lots of questions lol I'm interested in how it all went down

Holy cow I didn't realize we had anyone this big on the site... Can you make an AMA?
If you are referring to me.. No, I don't think I am big. Also, what's an AMA?

Following up on this topic, if the merch gets running fine, I could probably start some sort of giveaway, but not just random free stuff type, my buddy suggested more like a contest whereby entries are based upon merch purchase, stand a chance to get the giveaway. I'm not fully certain how I would go about it, but most likely I'll start considering the options once I'm past 100k, because for now, I want to grow without needing to use click-bait, telling everyone I meet to go sub me, free-stuff-if-you-like/sub-my-vids, viral/trending, or those top 5/10 types of videos. I'm not hating on those types of videos, just saying that I don't do those stuff, so the growth is slow, but at least, to me, it's growth based on people's interest to smash like sub button. Just my personal take on this matter.

I think regardless of whether you think your channel is big or not, you have 1,000x more subscribers than me so you must be doing something right. An AMA would be "ask me anything", you fielding questions people ask you about your journey

I'd love to do a giveaway.. maybe when i got more subscribers.. It depends if its worth giving something away too.

Oh, I see, never knew what's AMA acronym before this. Do you mean I have to make a video answering questions? I could just reply to any question you have in here.

In Oct 2015 I made a video
to celebrate 5000 subs, and invited people to comment in the video their answers to my question. The question was, to take your best guess at my current Mileage! I showed what I started the season with, and to guess what the current KMS were.

I think I gave it 10 days (when the comment #'s came to a close) to choose the 'winner'

The first place (closest guess to actual odometer reading) won a 1:18th model of my bike (Speed Triple, big brother to my Street Triple), while second and third place won packages of various industry decals.

Mailed out the items after to the winners!

I get so jealous whenever I see someone with a nice scale model of their motorcycle.

Closest I seem to be able to get to mine is the Police Service Interceptor, or the 6th gen :(

Its a speed triple (1050cc i think) not a street triple (675cc/765cc)

Yeah the Speed triple 1050 in white is the closest mini model i could get to my own bike, Street triple 675 :)
the 1050's 1:18 main visual differences include: single sided swing arm, double undertail exhaust instead of the single side, slightly different front fairing... but almost the same

I'm about to give it a try in my push for 1000 subs. It will work like this

250 subs, 2 winners chosen at random
500 subs, 5 winners
750 subs, 7 winners
1000 subs, 10 winners.

The plan is to send a sticker pack, and maybe for the 1000 sub part better prizes.

I'm entering! How about you choose me "at random"? lol

thanks for the info Cherrie! Did you use any other form of social media to promote the event or just YouTube?

yeah like make a thread on the forum where you field questions
Setup a thread for people to ask me question? Uh, I feel like a pompous arse if I did that, as though I'm so uber awesome or etc.. So.. I don't think so. But if you do wanna ask something just go ahead.. I don't need an "official" thread just for it. :)

Nice giveaway @Cherrie !

I think if everyone on this forum's subscribers were tallied up the number would still be below yours -.-
