Hey everyone I'm Tim from Australia, I just got my camera (sony action cam) and thought I'd check out a few vloggers on YouTube and yeah stumbled upon this place. I ride a Beemer F800R and right now im trialing all my camera setups etc to find out what I would like to do in terms of ride alongs or narrative videos. I've subbed to a few guys and dunno if they are here but seeing their work its inspired me to give it a crack and yeah, my channel is not up to scratch just yet but I'll throw up the link soon. Catch yas round.

Welcome. Let us know how you rig up a mic to work while the camera is mounted.

Thanks will do. ATM I'm thinking of just being a tight ass and seeing if having a mic hooked up with my iphone will work or just buying a MP3 voice recorder and stuffing that into my helmet or getting a mic up into my helmet or something.

Welcome to the site Tim. Whereabouts in Aus are you? I am from the Gold Coast myself.

Looking forward to seeing some of your work as there are not too many Ausies doing this sort of thing currently.

Cheers.

Bill :-)

Thanks guys I'm located in brissy. It's been a while but I now have a Gopro 3 silver after endless fogging trouble with my Sony action cam. Right now I'm having hair pulling fun with my mic setup lol. When I get my mic finally plugged into my Gopro does the camera eliminate the dreaded wind noise or is it the mic?

Firstly Welcome, great to see another Queensland Vlogger!
The camera it self will not eliminate the wind noise, the microphone might have wind resistance. But generally what you need to do is put foam or what is called a "deadcat" (the real fluffy looking this) around the mic to stop most of the wind noise.

personally I record my audio separately to the camera, so I know if it rains the camera is protected.

Hey mate!
Where about in Brissy are you located?

Also tell us if you like the mic quality from our vids and we can explain Al's setup!

We do have the ghost though.

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah ATM I'm stuck with using my iPhone earbuds and mic hooked up to my voice memo app. Which isn't too bad but I'm waiting on some stuff from eBay to rock up
