Funny First Experience Riding In The Rain. (cali Edition)

Rain is no problem. Fog... fog is what is scary. One morning on my way to work it was so foggy you couldn't see a stop light from one end of the intersection to the other. And keep in mind this is at 5:30AM. I had two people try and come into my lane before I rev bombed them.

I've only been caught in the rain once and it sucked since I had no waterproof gear on. Fog is the worst though because no one will see you.

Damn for real? I have never been in fog so thick that I could not see the light at the intersection.

Get you a good pair of gloves with the visor wiper on them. Get some plexus or bike spirits clean and polish, helmet safe and they lay down a a little layer of wax to bead the rain up!!!!
As far as gear, I live on the east coast, not too much rain but the temp on a regular basis is 20-30. Externally waterproof gear makes me warmer in the cold.
Also cycles are less likely to hydroplane but not like they are impervious to it.

I've only seen fog that thick once, and yeah I would love to have a pair of gloves with a wiper on it. But I am focusing my purchases on a new sedici leather race jacket haha.

I really dont like riding in the rain. In short it sucks!! lol. Check it out.
Really, your first time, lol. Riding down to work on the 15 can get brutal , and it does rain often just depends where you live. Lake Elsinore gets plenty of Rain as well as Temecula where I work. Snow Board jacket is a good call though! I've done that a few times... Lol

Ya i typically ride a lot as well. When its not snowing lol.
I put about 3000 miles on my honda in 3 months.
That was a lot of night riding and a commute to va and back.
I hope ill have more time for riding this coming up spring and summer but i am prepairing for a major career change and i may have extra time, or not.
As far as weather, here in md it rained abput once a week this last summer.
Mostly on the weekend of course.

you can only get so wet. i hate when it gets trapped in my boots and it feels like trotting through a swamp. after i get soaked all over, i usually don't mind being wet until i get back home. just watch out for those manhole covers and those paint lines. give yourself plenty of time to stop too and you'll be fine.
