Face Reveal Or Unmasked Vlogger

I'm just curious what everyone's opinion is on showing your face or face reveals, or who's face you'd like to see, etc???

Sometimes you do!


You can be following everyone else, the same speed on the motorway. Everyone is doing 80mph on a 70mph road, you're the only one who is recording your speedo = breaking the law

but i dont hide my face..it's never been shown in any of my videos but thats purely because im wearing a helmet and camera is on the helmet.
that being said i'll probably show it soon if i dont get the mic i ordered in the next couple of days, because i'll just have to shoot an off the bike update lol

You're not anonymous when you motovlog. Whether you show your face or not, both the authorities and public can easily find out who you are if they want to.

I don't hide mine, as it takes more effort, is less involving for the audience, and serves no purpose.

There was a thread about that posted some time ago by Spicy110 and you know how that turned out. He shows himself speaking on a few of his videos.

I personally don't like face reveals. If you showed your face and who you are as soon as you started vlogging, that's fine, I know your face, I have the mental link face-person(ality)-vlogger.

Face reveals after a year of vlogging disrupts what I know about the vlogger and I end up less attached and less likely to keep following him/her. Having now a face to attach to the personality you knew is stressful for your mind because it is never what you imagined. It doesn't follow your brain heuristics and it just doesn't work.

I happen to know the face of a few vloggers by accident (they appeared on a conference or something) and I don't follow any of them anymore.
Another vlogger made a face reveal video. I kept listening to the video (there was some sweet things to listen to) but minimized the window.

We're experiencing another way of human contact, a new way of social interaction. We're still learning how to handle this. In about 5 years we "invented" a new way of contact that is different of what humans did since the beginning of time.

depends on a few factors.
1: do you plan on doing illegal shit?
2: do you really care about your face being in videos (some people are self conscious)
3: if you have it hidden for years like m13, then it becomes the norm. even tho his face is in heaps of videos.

Personally I don't reveal my face just because I like my privacy.
I have to say though that after a few vloggers did face reveals it kind of destroyed the image of them I had built up over time.
