Editing Software

When it came time to put my own money into a video editing program, I eventually decided on the Corel VideoStudio. It isn't free, but it isn't as expensive as Premiere.

Coming from Premiere, the Corel interface is... lacking. But while it looks primitive, it does just what I need and still comes with a bunch of powerful effects. Especially useful is the proDAD Mercalli SE Video stabilization / rolling-shutter compensation filter. It is really amazing for shaky footage from my motorcycle or drone.

The latest Corel VideoStudio freezes at 99% export on both my Razer Blade Pro and older Alienware M17x. I've tried all the recommended fixes. I gave up and switched to Sony Movie Studio 13. It's as easy as Corel, but seemingly more powerful and rips properly 100% of the time for me.

I use Vegas/Movie Studio 10.

At first I thought the software sucked - now I know how to do overlays with video PinP, it has grown on me.

I went from using Vegas to to Premiere. So far I am enjoying premiere, it has all the features I need and is fairly simple to use/understand.

I think alot of the different editing software is good as long as you know how to use it. Premiere was just that worked well for me so I stuck with it.
