Drift Stealth 2 New Replacement Model?

Hello new to here so i hope this hasn't been asked (did search and nothing obvious came up) but does anyone have any ideas about when the drift stealth 2 will be replaced? I was on the verge of getting one at xmas and saw places like currys and Halfords had them down to £90. Now they are back up to £99 but show as out of stock. Was that a flash sale to flush old stock before a "new" stealth 2 comes out? looking at the drift site it seems the last thing they released was the 4K version of the larger ghost so my thoughts were the next thing they'd do was update the smaller stealth 2?

Be annoyed to buy a full price stealth2 now just to find a few months later a new version comes out. Hoping someone in the know on here who's been following drift over the years can advise. If it's more than 6months away I think I'll get one to cover me out on the roads this summer.

It was the following post that came up on a google search that led me to this forum. At first I thought it might mean drift themselves were in trouble but it seems not:

Any advice appreciated

Stealt 2 isnt that old, and the Ghost 4k is almost out.

Can't see it being replaced any time soon.

Also on another note, its a heap of shit.

Yes its not looking good for drift at the moment, I would have thought they might have learned something from all the problems associated with the stealth but it seems they didn't really.

GoPro are just as bad with learning lessons though.... the mic adaptor being no1 pile of dog crap on the GP5. (am not on about it being encrypted as that is their prerogative, but more annoyed at how flimsy it is and that the cable is too short and that it isn't held in place securely and that you lose the waterproofing by using it!)

.... it should be either a bolt on and have a special case to retain the waterproofness or come with a replacement flap to securely lock the connector in place and maintain the waterproofness along with a more flexibly cable that is longer so you can tuck it out the way.

I think the low price is because the original £200 was unrealistic when the HD Ghost was only £250, and the baby Hero 2014 was similar on paper but only £99 at launch.

They've been available for around £100 for a fair while now.

I was the one who posted about the demise of the Drift forum. Keep in mind that it's an independent entity from Drift itself, company-wise. I haven't heard of any problems related to Drift itself. The forum was just abandoned by its moderators, and overcome with porn hacks.

I still prefer the Drift over a GoPro due to its user friendly side of operations. The screen is easier to read and navigate through, and I like the rotating lens over a GoPro's fixed on. Foot seems about even between the two, and I'm considering the new Ghost 4k when it's available. The dual miss and video stabilization look promising.

Well my stealth froze again today. I'm sure the hit to the ground did more serious damage than I thought.

Think I might take a look at a session for my 2nd camera.

Thanks for all the responses. So reading between the other info put forward in this thread seems there's nothing to indicate drift are going to update their stealth2 (i.e. Smaller offering) anytime soon. And also (thanks Wuf) there's no sign that the company is in any trouble.

Cheers
Ian
