Curious, What Is Your Day Job?

I am retired - I worked 30 years as a full time firefighter , the last ten years I was a Watch Manager working as a Fire Investigator . Before joining the Fire Service I was in the Royal Air Force .
I wanted to be a Fire Fighter for many years. Applied to Warwickshire (West Mids froze recruitment at the time) - Didn't get in to Warwickshire :/ I answered the psychometric stuff far too honestly I think. From that day on I promised to make sure I learnt as much as possible.

3 months later West Mids opened up recruitment, someone I knew could have really helped me out, but I was barred from applying to another service for X amount of time.

I joined in West Mids (WMFS) and transfered north after 8 years

I'm a research scientist in microbiology at University of Bristol! (officially 'Postdoctoral Research Associate')

I grow bacteria, and find out what happens in different experiments, then create mutants of them (like stopping certain genes from working) to see what effect that gene has on it's behaviour. I'm working on a bacterium that causes (among other things) pneumonia and ear/throat infections (Streptococcus pneumoniae), but my background is with the fungus Candida albicans in dentistry and oral microbiology :)
Take a look at my published research here

I'm going to go with diverse ;)
It's interesting how people with such a range of skills can also have the same interests in spare time.. i know that goes without saying as part of human nature, but it's still interesting
Aye sure is.

Sorry this project has taken so long. I have time today to work on this some more thanks to some bad weather here at the R-Rated Compound.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT SHARED ABOVE! THERE WERE 59 OF YOU THAT CHIMED IN

Here is the breakdown of what environment you are most likely to see a motovlogger working in the real world -

6 of us work in factory type workplace
11 of us work in the field (meaning mostly outside)
1 of us works in a hospital setting
38 of us work in an office type setting
2 of us work in retail or shop
1 of us is lucky enough to do whatever they please

We have a lot of different fields of work
2 aircraft mechanic or maintenance
1 Bricklayer
1 Government Service worker
4 Teachers for grades from young to college
2 Food service workers
1 Nurse
1 Homemaker (and former cop)
2 Currently in their Military (some more that are prior service)
1 Photographer
1 Visual effects artist
4 Engineers
2 Students
1 Research scientist
1 Tattoo artist
2 Managers
1 in Human Resources

And the place you are most likely to find a motovlogger working in the real world is in IT. There are about 18 in that line of work in some capacity.

So the next time you watch a motovlogger doing cool motorcycle stuff like tearing arse down an open road, being a squid, off road riding, reviewing a bike, or just talking to their self on camera - remember it is because of them we have the technology to enjoy motovlogging content!

Pretty cool breakdown and nice reading all the entries!

Well Im about six years late on this post but I'll throw my name in the hat since I don't see any similar jobs listed there. I am a self employed carpet and upholstery cleaner. My wife runs a car detailing shop we have at home as well. Area rug cleaning and all that sort of thing too and of course, professional pink panther teddy bear cleaner. If you can clean teddy bears, that's when the BIG BUCKS start rolling in...

I help people learn about motorcycles and how to maintain them, and help motorcyclists in general.

Before that I used to work in marketing for powersports and automotive companies like Harley-Davidson, KYMCO, Goodyear, Dunlop, and a local corporate dealership.

Sometimes I get paid to make not made for children videos on the internet that cater to a 98% male audience. Life is good.

I have predominantly been self employed fro the last 25 years. During that time I’ve worked as a Private Investigator, freelance journalist, security consultant, building contractor… At the moment I’m taking a step back and trying to figure out what next in this strange new world we find ourselves in.
