I'm going to be harsh with this one.
This intro fails to get my attention because I see dead time on the first 5 seconds. Time 00.06 I'm struggling to see past the handlebars. About 0.12 again, dead time. 0.16 handlebars. Clip at 0.19 and 0.23, nothing is happening or I don't see it. 0.29 is that a burnout? I cannot see it because it's too far away and the FX is interfering. It is also too long for a video intro.
I'm current with the purpose and how a trailer, intro or channel ad should be because I'm working on that right now for my channel and there is a bunch of information to be processed and some technique is needed.
Let's part with the base that your clip is a trailer, it's too long to be a video intro. An intro should top at 5 seconds.
The idea is to lock in your viewers attention in the first 3~5 seconds. I don't think that the clip you chose for your first is a good one, you're catering to the general public and some won't like that one.
Scrub your videos and use those parts you cannot stop watching again and again and merge them on a trailer. You only want the best of the best to be there.
And for a channel intro, keep it simple, some people like fancy text with moving 2d pieces all over and with modern music, some people like more simple things like just your channel name and that's it. An intro is not needed, it will help with branding but, unless you're selling your channel you shouldn't care about that, it's the content that matters. Viewers will have no problem skipping a video after the intro if the content isn't engaging.
So, to recap, for a trailer, one minute tops, make it engaging and use the best of the best you can get. Fancy FX is not needed, it can get distracting. The first seconds are key, shoot with all you got before the 5 seconds mark, you can get lazy at the end. Watch, watch, watch and re-watch your clip, make sure it's perfect and doesn't get boring at any point. Also cater to all audiences, avoid things that even _some_ people will dislike. Get to the point, cut the dead parts of the clips you're using and make sure that what you're trying to show is there in clear view.
For a video intro, short is best. 5 seconds maximum. Just get your name there and that's it.
Something that I saw lately, seems to be general consensus to use commercial names to brand some videos, like showing the gopro, sony or drift logo at the beginning. In my opinion, that's pointless unless you're getting paid to do that. I get some are happy with their camera choice but no need to be so ostentous about it.
