Serious Can't Post A Video? - Read And Then You Can Post

It looks like I found the place that I wan't to be. It's nice to find somewhere online that the owner actually cares about.

idk, I'm not liking it, like right now, I have a vid to upload, so I have to pad the posts just to get it up, I'm not here to just drive views to my channel, I'm here for feedback.

There's been a bit of obviously deliberate padding recently. There are lots of discussions on here, it surely can't be that hard to actually patticipate?

While feedback is of course vital on our videos, you're asking people who routinely are active on the forum for feedback, but not wishing to participate in some of their discussions. It's a community, we're mean to be there for each other more than when it suits an individual.

I often don't have anything to add is what I'm trying to get across. It's not that I don't "feel" like participating, I watch as many vids as I can, but I think that posting in the vid section doesn't boost your post count.

The post count does need to be accrued in open forum.

Wasn't specifically criticising you in that comment, it was generalising. There's plenty of topics, and if there are none that grab you, then you can create a meaningful one of your own to spark discussion on a topic you are more passionate about. Note to all about that, we do notice when it's a lame topic to get posts :)

Sorry, but the forum was abused by too many publicising their videos and not giving back to the community.

Joining in and keeping the forum an alive community works both ways. The forum is a lively place to be which means more people around to watch your videos.

It's pretty much a win-win, and sorry if you don't see it that way.

Is there a way to determine how much more "activity" we need to contribute before we can share videos again?

You need to have made 7 posts in 5 days (or the other way round, it's in this thread), and it can take a short while for the system to update that you've hit the requisite number of posts.

We also keep an eye out for people spamming to post vids too ;)

Thanks Lurch! And that's just in the most recent 5 days? Or for every 5 days since you opened your account?

It's within the last 5 days, there's no rolling average. If you made 2000 posts in August, then fell silent for the first week of September, you'd still need to make 5 forum posts/comments before you can put your video here.

We welcome everyone to come and share their videos. We love finding new motovloggers and fully support you all where we can.

However, motovlog.com is not a dumping ground for your videos so we have come up with some simple rules for this section.

  • To post in this section you need to have 5 posts per 7 days in other areas of the forum
  • You can reply to posts within this section but you CANNOT reply with your video posts (unless the OP has asked you to)
  • You cannot promote yourself or others in someones thread unless asked
  • You cannot keep bumping your own thread with videos. If we see this, we will delete the whole thread

Why have we made this rule?
  • Reduce the number of low quality posts to this section
  • Encourage members to be more interactive with motovlog members (We don't owe you views, you earn them)
  • Give those who interact with the forum more exposure while getting rid of the people who joined just for this section.

We don't owe you or your channel anything, if you want us to check out your videos, give us a reason for it and get involved. ;)

TO CONFIRM. THE SITE TAKES A FEW MINUTES TO REGISTER POSTS SO THERE IS NO POINT COMING ON, POSTING THEN COMPLAINING ABOUT NOT BEING ABLE TO POST HERE, GIVE IT A FEW MINUTES, NORMALLY NO MORE THAN 10

cool
