Can I Be Honest???????

I've got a fiddly drive in my MBP, however I am actually happy as I am now managing data far better on to externals rather than the whole complete jumble it used to be.

Thinking for buying a NAS drive to back shit up to when home, and potentially put films on and then work out how to convert the TVs to SmartTVs and not spend a lot of money in the process...
Readynas' are pretty fucking awesome! worth every penny never have to worry about data corruption.

Sup ladies & gents,

I know the hardcore vloggers use adobe or final cut. Which is great and those that take the time to edit their vids can really make them standout. I applaud you all. That being said, for simple and fast edits, especially when you are starting out.. man, I gotta say goprostudio and moviemaker get the job done- that is for simple and fast edits only.

Currently, I am using he two. I have the trial version of Adobe Premier and I am learning it.. but I assume it will be weeks or month or two before I can edit anything substantial on adobe, as I only have about three hours a weekend ( Sunday evenings) to dedicate to editing, and at this point- learning how to edit.

That's all folks, just my 2 cents.
I agreed, I've never used Gopro studios, but windows movie maker, and Adobe Photoshop CS6, they do the job for me.

I have only done one video and I used gopro studio for it. Seems to be all I need at the moment though I might grow out of it.

gopro studio is very underated...I has some good functions which I only found out after watching the vids on the youtube channel.

Most important aspects for me are content, then audio quality....not to fussed about fancy editing...that's not what I watch vlogs for.

I want to see how the guy rides his bike, does he have the same outlook as me, can he relay a sentiment that I can agree or disagree with, does the vlog want to make me respond with a comment, editing skills are not as important as raw footage and personality..IMO

like what you said, and agree with it.

maybe i try to add certain things through editing because i feel i am lacking in other areas xD

I like to try and keep both high, for the total package!

Plus, if I don't like the content, I generally don't bother trying to make a video out of it. I'd rather go riding again than shoehorn crap footage into some kind of 'product'!!

I use Sony movie studio 12 (don't know if it's the same with Sony Vegas). It's a good mix of tools and simplicity (simple edits take place in minutes).

I never felt good with after effects or any of those professional tools.

Im not good at all with video editing yet, partly lazy and partly unmotivated. With all that said I think its fairly important and Im getting a little better each vid. Just takes practice like anything else.

I'm still using XP movie maker and it doesn't support the native file format from my Roam1. I have to convert it to an .avi (media converter "freeware") first, then i can edit it in movie maker. Am i doing something wrong?
Are you still using windows XP? If so, then yes you are doing something wrong. Seeing that XP is vulnerable its time to upgrade. There are people scanning the Internets for XP machines to hack.

In regards to editing software, use what you feel works for you.

I have been using Sony Vegas 10 Pro for eons... It still works. I will not upgrade until I am forced to upgrade due to new video compression that Vegas 10 can't handle. I was afraid it could not handle the 1080p 50mbps pro mode footage from my HDR-AS100 sony action cam, but it worked like a charm! I think it has earned it's cost years ago! Very nice program.

I just use imovie - the latest on the latest macbook pro is pretty good and, with lateral thinking you can do editing tricks that don't really come with it.
Really the bottom line is it ain't what tools you have it's how well you use them, I think ;)

Well said there. I can't say I need FCPX, but now I have it, I much prefer using it to iMovie.
