Camera Mounts And Gopro Sticky Pads

How long did it take for you to find that your mount failed?

The suction cup mount I have is the strongest suction cup I've ever experienced (apart from industrial suction cups, but that doesn't count); I can stick it to the center of a table and lift the table with it.

The 3M mounts are definitely the way to go, but I think a suction cup is a viable option if you're not looking for a permanent solution.
We were doing a simple ride around the block shoot, I was standing not far away and saw it drop, went over to pick it up. :)

I guess I'm just a bit too nervous about losing my camera on a ride. I've never done anything like this before. And the little thing is expensive. I watched a video of RoyalJordanian losing a Hero 4 and it got run over before he could rescue it. The camera was flattened. The side mount seems stuck on good. The chin mount seems wobbly and its a little concerning. Did the best job I could to secure it. I guess a good test might be to see if I can pull it off with my hands?

I tested mine by seeing how easily I could pull it off, and I couldn't without excess force. I'm more concerned about the plastic mount actually breaking than the adhesive coming undone.

I was worried about the drift mounted with 3M stuff but after a few rides realised it takes more force than I can muster to pull one off with bare hands. A flat knife does get it off though if you need to.

Wowwwww.... Interesting indeed. My Shoei XR/RF-1100 is also quite difficult for the chin mount, so I think I'll be trying that Sugru. Thanks!
I chin mounted my XR-1100 (as shown in avatar) stuffed the gaps up with more 3M tape, speeds of over 200km/h, solid. :)

hello I was wondering where you end up mounting your cam

I also have an Arai RX-Q and I don't really know how to attach my gopro. I would like it to be below my eye-shield if possible. Any help is appreciated.

Hello HippoDrone.. Thank you so much that looks dope. In the front I'm not sure if you ran into this problem but the curve 3m will have some spaces due to the way the helmet is design. How did you fill in those gaps? Thank you in advance.

I positioned it to have as few gaps as possible. The sticky pad has a strong adhesive so shouldn't come off, although you could attach a lanyard to the camera as a backup
