Hey, i am looking into buying my first bike, my dad wants me to get a 'Honda CBX250' (1980's) but i want something a bit more current. (like 90's - 2000's) is there any bikes that are similar to the CBX250 in terms of practicability, reliability, and cost around $2000 because that is my budget.

Thanks In Advance.

I Live in Australia, and i've had a look at some Ninjas, but my concern is that if i drop a full fairing bike then it could lose a lot of value when i go to sell it, so i was thinking more a naked bike or something like that.

again thanks for the help

i will advise this to anyone!
the honda cb250 (01-06) i believe are a brilliant reliable bike that cost nothing in parts.

i started on one and the only reason i changed was because it was a bit slow for me.

Look at buying a 250 dual sport...learn to ride on the dirt...then move to the street. You will have so much more fun on a "dualie" than a "sportie".
If you can afford it, keep two sets of tires/wheels for it.....one set for dirt, one set for street.
