Busted someone pilfering another creator's content without permission

I would like to recognize YouTube creator Dominick Cidoni.

So I was doing a bit of research and noticed two videos that were exactly the same down to the second and thumbnail.

I reached out to the original creator , Dominick, via YouTube comments and pointed out it looked like someone reposted his video and gave the link.

He responded back that he was grateful and confirmed they pirated him. He contacted YouTube and they yanked the false copy off within an hour.

Then he contacted me back and asked permission to thank me in a video. Of course, I said yes and he has posted a vlog about someone stealing his content.

Now, in my old career we used to say that only dumb crooks got caught. Yeah, the culprit in this case seemed pretty careless but what about the smarter ones out there?

Keep your eyes peeled folks.

Been there many times.. Once I had a whole other channel which videos were 80% mine, I reported the videos one by one (which I think it's kinda stupid, no option to just report the channel directly to YT, it's so tedious!) and eventually since too many videos were reported they shut down the entire channel.

I also have had people cheekily asking me to take back my copyright strike against them saying sorry and all that bullshit. For me it's simple. This re-posting of other people's video is NOT something you "accidentally" do by mistake, so I have zero mercy.

Mostly is my subs that would alert me of the pirated stuff, so I'm grateful to them for the tip-off.

Wow i would've been steaming if someone blatantly reposted my video. A lot of time and effort goes into a quality video and for someone to reap all the benefits by just essentially copying and pasting is so messed up.

Get one or two popular videos, use a certain amount of good keywords and the bots follow and set up.

I think they get a strike against them and then after so many, YouTube takes down the channel.

They would usually grab your most/more popular videos or something which I can't really brain it.. But yeah get enough strikes and YouTube takes down the channel. When you search it won't exist. As for taking down videos, the links work but when page loads you will see the message saying the videos was taken down by "Name of original owner", so if you are reporting, make sure not to use your real name, just use your channel's name. I made that mistake once and it showed my name on the message.. FFFF, if I knew they were gonna put it in I would have used the channel name. The option which name to use comes at the report form when you fill it up.
