Brighton Burn Up (Sunday 9th September 2012)

OK, Pease Pottage it is!!

We still have a minor problem maybe with meeting up with others in Brighton itself.

Ginger, Spicy Furious and others I'm sure are going straight to Brighton and we have to hook up with these guys when we get there.

I don't know the area so how's that going to work?

Oh and when we are there, we have to ride the Sussex Downs, it's just to good not to :)

I don't know brighton at all, I've never been there... But we need some sort of landmark, building or car park in Brighton that people who don't know the area can't miss, I was thinking maybe something like a train station? I'm sure Brighton would have a pretty big train station with a decent sized car park for all of us to meet in, plus the road signs will direct you to the station so people who are going straight to Brighton should be able to find there way to it. It's just an idea, I thought I'd throw it out there :)
 
OK, just watched Mrs Blah's vlog where they go to Pease Pottage and it sounded, and looked, like Alex went to the wrong place first. So to save myself, and potentially others, getting lost, is this the meet place?

That's where we scoped out today That looks like it in the pic mate.

You come off the motorway, and it's there, I just went past and to the roundabout for no particular reason :)

Oh and from there, it's A road all the way!
 
So, forgive me as I have been on holiday, are we meeting at Ace? Or Pease Pottage??

Does anyone fancy meeting beforehand?? Just cos it is gonna be hard as foowk for me to find a bunch of people, I have never met before, in a throng of many bikers.

I live north London near the a406.
 
It looks like some will meet at the Ace and some will meet at Pease Pottage.

I plan on being at Pease Pottage no later than 0930.

A lot of the 'vloggers' are having a meet at Pease Pottage Services as the ACE is outta the way for many and also not Learner friendly.

Pease Pottage is just before the A23 so it's a straight run to Brighton from there.

I do have a vlog upcoming with Pease Pottage car park so you'll see the Layout is very easy.
 
I know that myself and extreme601 are riding from colchester to the Ace Cafe. I want to do the whole run! Not just a part of it :P

Well, coming from Colchester, you'd have to go past me, so do you wanna meet on the way?? Am thinking Tesco Brent Cross?

We've got to detour into the centre of London first to pick someone up from the train station on the way, we'll be tight for time, see what BM says :)

I could meet you at site B (Euston??) as it isn't far for me.

Yup, okay. Should be an underground pick up/drop off area. We'll be there at around 9:30.
 
It's a circular road that goes under the front of the main train station for taxis and stuff to pick people up, we should be able to converge in there I think.
 
Ok, I live in Brighton, I know it (reasonably) well, and I work in Crawley (4 yards from Pease Pottage) so I know that too. My suggestion would be: (feel free to ignore it, but bear in mind I might offer tea and biscuits at mine after, so keeping me sweet would be in your interest! :) )

Brighton: As Madeira Drive will be an absolute joke with bikes, it might be an idea to meet in the Marina at first, there's a big sod-off Asda with an equally big sod-off carpark. It's only about 30 seconds from Madeira, but it's sufficienntly out of the way that it shouldn't be TOO crawling with bikers. We can meet there first and head to Madiera en masse.

Pease Pottage: Blahdeblah52's video shows the service station, this is a pretty good shout as it's quite obvious (It's a services, there are signs everywhere) and as mentioned it is at the point where the M23 turns into the A23 so it's L-plate happy.

It takes about 30 to 45 minutes to get to the Marina from Pease Pottage (less with speeding and more if there are 30 of you :) ) so, for sake of argument, leave Pease at 10.30 and leave the Marina at 11.30?

I will (hopefully) have moved into my new flat in the Marina by then, but will be cruising up to Pease Pottage for about 9.30 to meet people, then back to wherever we meet in Brighton.

I think I might steal a traffic cone and put it on top of my top-box or something, make myself really obvious for you! :D
 
So you guys are meeting at Pease Pottage Services at 10:30?

Us going to the Ace Cafe won't be leaving there until 10:30.

Guess we'll meet you in Brighton...
