The 250's would do just as well as most restricted 600's. You'd just have to rev it a bit more. Trust me, there are some pretty bloody bike hills round here ;)

250's would probably be fine like you said. What are the breaks like though cause you would be always be using them

125's I wouldn't bother unless it was necessary!

50's wouldn't even get up there!

Do a quick search for Porlock Hill. I am pretty sure it is one of the steepest in the country it's a 1 in 4 gradient.

EDIT: Hardknott Pass is the steepest in the country with a 1 in 3 gradient.

Like i said, even going up it in a car scares me haha

Okay, I've an idea for waypoints, but where we stop is up in the air.

Morses Motorcycles in Weston-Super-Mare, on to Cheddar, go up the Gorge, do a short loop, back down the Gorge, head to Bridgwater then on to Minehead, and back to Bridgwater. Minehead's a nice stop for food and the seafront's got space for a good few bikes. There's Riders Ducati in Bridgwater too which might be worth a look.

This won't go as far as Porlock meaning no one has to worry about their brakes catching fire, melting, etc. It's all within the limits of a 125, but if you're on a 50 you're pretty much doomed as it's mostly 60mph roads.

Edit: Also potential for a stop in the Gorge itself, there are spaces all along the sides of the lower portion of it if people want to take a few pictures or something.

Sounds like a great plan to me, definitely going to take a trip towards Porlock. This road sounds like it has a reputation

CURLY

As both my and your suggestion for a meetup are pretty close together in terms of dates, just wondered if you wanted to come together to get one set up?

I'm alright with that if you are :)

We could make it the weekend before that, either the 23rd or the 24th? Should also skip some school holidays for those who are going to get a hotel

I'm afraid I can't make it :/ Won't be on a bike by then. But if you lot do another meet along this route sometime later I'm there! :D

Is it going to be 100% on that week end? need to know too book work off

Likewise, I would love to do this. I will need to book a hotel as I don't fancy a long ride home to go out again the next day. Great idea though guys!

If we give people tonight to say yes/no to that date I don't see why we couldn't set it, we need to make sure a local is available to guide us that weekend, even though I know it is difficult for Chrus to commit due to his job (It's tricky being an escort, the phone can go at any time :P)

I don't know what the plan is for this, and I have no idea whether I'll come or not until probably about the day before.

However, I see you planning for March. Last years Big Meet was around this time and there was snow everywhere. This was after we'd had a "heat wave" that took us to the scorching heights of 15 degrees.
I'm not sure whether you'd considered camping but my whole point is the weather can do anything.

If it rains lots, Cheddar Gorge gets closed. The Minehead road would be a disaster too.

It is hard work, I'll be honest. ;)
