Best Motovlogging Helmet Setup - Camera, Microphone, Mounts

Gopro hero 3 white
3 arm pivot mount
Side of my helmet
Olympus me-52w mic
Other than a little bit of wind noise it sounds and records very well

Been debating the Drift Ghost S but it's a tad pricey for what your getting but sick of having to set up the go pro everytime as none of the helmets I have are suitable for chin bar mounts either.

What about these Sonys and contours, how do they stack up looks wise and footage quality?
Being from Northern Ireland the camera definitely needs to be waterproof

I like the black stealthy look of the Drift compared to the others. Beneficial to Oz motovloggers as the police are fining people for cameras mounted to their helmets!

Note: They are not drilled or cause any modification to the helmet... just 3M taped to the side or front which "apparently" compromises the structural integrity of the helmet o_O

Well, there are type approved adhesives for helmets, you just hope that Drift, GoPro et al use appropriate adhesives.

I need some sort of flexible GoPro mount to replace the 4 arms I currently use to get it into the right place.
bought a kind of bal joint for my go pro. its from another company but works well

basically go pro ends, and a ball and clamp in the middle. perfect for leveling out the camera

That's interesting, as there are loads of videos on YouTube of Australian bike cops with Contours and Drifts on their helmets to catch car drivers on their phones.

Are they going to fine themselves, or is it the usual "Do as I say, not as I do".....?

I messed around with the Mobius camera, and in your case, this set up is extremely hard for cops to see.

Check out my other videos to see if you like the Mobius video quality.

I'm not sure you should be recommending people to drill into their helmet
I think people who own motorcycles are mature enough to decide if they want to drill or not to drill a very small hole on their full face helmet, and if they decide to do so, the full face helmet will still offer a lot more protection than an open face or even a flip-up helmet.;)

I'd not count on that! Some muppet will do it badly and then try sueing such is the way of the world...

What you do with your own helmet is entirely your own business, but you also have to accept that any modification that is not manufacturer approved is not advisable, and completely your own responsibility.

Its exactly the same for bikers riding too fast or doing wheelies or taking corners at insane speeds. Its their own responsibilities, and assume the consequences, such is life. But making a small hole into the chin guard is not worth having people getting exited over it.

...and completely your own responsibility.
Exactly my point.
Unfortunately we all end up having to pay in the end for underinsured or noninsured motorcyclists, medical or otherwise, that get in a crash along with paying for the costs of crash investigations through taxes, police-time put in, medical transport non-payees, etc. It's great if a person wants to squid, put a hole in their helmet, etc., but it all comes back to the rest of us eventually ~_~ ...

...and they say if you have a small hole or fracture in your helmet, it's all over :o ! Think of a windshield that has a small pit in it... that spot's been weakened and if not fixed, it eventually will crack. Same logic with the helmet in a crash ;) .....
