I'm still wrestling with the mic position inside my helmet.

I unbuttoned the cheek lining in my helmet and squeezed the cable in there. I'm not sure if all helmets have this, but on the outer side of the cheek lining there's a tiny 'window' that exposes the foam, so I jimmied the mic into it. It's kinda like the cheek pad foam acts as the wind buffer. My voice is just a wee bit muffled, but otherwise it comes out quite clearly. The only problem I have is when I speak louder, I get some distortion. My Drift is already set to the lowest sensitivity, so I might have to wrap the mic with something to dampen the sound.

I do that too, but I think I need to add some padding between the mic and the interior of the helmet.

If you push it in too deep you cant hear anything, so just watch for that.

I just scotch tape the mic right in the front.

I just bought a 3d printed offset mount for my gopro. It not only centers the lens to the mount, but it also extends it out so you can tilt the gopro further with the j-hook. I'll put up a vid of it soon.

I have a chin mount for the GoPro on my Roof Daytona helmet with the skeleton back on and the deadcat attachment and the sound is spot on! Can't post any pics yet due to noob status on this forum

I've seen people mount it to the peak of the helmet, both underneath and on top. I'm not sure how much mounting underneath would affect your view though.

The video camera setup MkI on the side of my flip face helmet. The position doesn't show any of my helmet and the angle gets perfect footage without showing any pointless footage like my fuel tank etc.

ive got my helmet set the same way and i had to trim the hairs on the deadcat so they would stop tickling me and tangling with my beard
