Audio input on gopros?

What set up is everyone using to record the audio onto their GoPro 8?

I produced a test on my channel. Gopro Media Mod VS Cynova Audio Adapter. For me it is the GoPro Media Mod. The sound is fine and installation easy. Go for it...

i use a separate voice recorder. to attach a mic to the gopro you'd need to cut the case to open the door to access the port. i guess you could just rip off the door and hope... either way, not fun.

Thats not dangerous! The door is good mounted. I dint like separate voice recorder. To much work..

the case, at lease on the hero 7, doesn't allow for the door covering the usb port to open. so you either have to cut the case to make the opening large enough to open the door (which i'd favor) or rip off the door and hope the opening allows enough access to the usb port.

The door on the 5, 6, 7 and 8 just unclips, no ripping it off is required!

For the GoPro Hero 8 you can also fit a Ulanzi GP8-7 door to it which allows use of the 5, 6, 7 mic adaptor while keeping the battery scure!

i guess i didn't check out the hinge well enough and wasn't ready to just start prying at random.

If you're only recording yourself the easiest would be the mic adapter and a mic. If you are interested in dual and multi vlogs I figured out and posted a solution using the sena audio pack.

Because I hate extra editing, and my computer hates it more. I don't think I'll ever use an external audio recorder on the bike.
