Currently I am running a separate voice recorder - TASCAM DR-05 but as soon as the Media Mod is available I'll get one of them

the case, at lease on the hero 7, doesn't allow for the door covering the usb port to open. so you either have to cut the case to make the opening large enough to open the door (which i'd favor) or rip off the door and hope the opening allows enough access to the usb port.

The door on the 5, 6, 7 and 8 just unclips, no ripping it off is required!

For the GoPro Hero 8 you can also fit a Ulanzi GP8-7 door to it which allows use of the 5, 6, 7 mic adaptor while keeping the battery scure!

If you're only recording yourself the easiest would be the mic adapter and a mic. If you are interested in dual and multi vlogs I figured out and posted a solution using the sena audio pack.
Because I hate extra editing, and my computer hates it more. I don't think I'll ever use an external audio recorder on the bike.
