A shoulder check wouldn't have hurt. It's possible that the rider came up too fast even for that, but still, would have reduced the chances of this collision.

I watched this & saw your post , I don't know why he swung so wide or the fact that the guy behind him must have been coming at some pace to not have seen his indicator. Hmm, whats your take on it as you know the rules over there & what not.

Can you turn left on a red light?

the two left lanes can turn left, BUT, i don't see anyone at fault. the rider behind should have "picked up" that he was turning left. as I've been told by this rider in the video that the left indicator was on

He could have been filtering up the inside and just got it wrong. I've seen you (Pete) do that a few times (example with the door near miss) and often thought that was taking extra risk because of things like that. I personally found it better to filter down the middle of the road so I could see the traffic coming.

its actually legal to go on the left side of the lane. provided the cars have stopped.


as for the middle of the lane. its unto the cops discretion to fine
