Me and @Dewey316 use DR Studio.

Got questions about it?

The Speed Editor is nifty... not required, and I often skip using it, but for some things it's quite helpful.

The Studio version has hardware acceleration for encoding/decoding H.264, which is used in the playback during editing as well as the rendering, is quite worth the cost of the license.

You also get the speed warp re-timing option and super scaling.

Those may or may not be of use. I super scale all my videos since all my source is 1080 and the really old camera, the sharpening in super scale helps.

Speed warp is nice for doing slow motion that is buttery smooth. Again, all my footage is 30fps, so slow motion without it gets choppy.

If you would use those, is entirely based on your videos and your gear.

Also, my render times are about 1/4 of the time now with the GPU accelerated renders.

IS GPU acceleration only for nvidia cards though?
(I have AMD)
Good question... I think it may be, based on this:

I see H265 is now in the free version of resolve.... one less on the reasons to uograde side of the equation I suppose.

I can;t see anywhere where I get speed editor as part of Studio ?

Looks like it's still available: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/prod...resstud_se_bun_davinci_resolve_17_studio.html

As for Studio-exclusive features... that was a big one, but there's also Super Scale, Optical Flow, a bunch of effects, some color-grading things, and probably more that I can't think of right now.

I saw a note that they were doing away with the bundle, and raising the price of the Speed editor to $395.

If you can find a speed editor bundle for $295, it is a pretty good deal now.

I heard that too - I guess 1 year is a "limited time" :D

Missed out by a week. Anyone buying the speed editor or keyboard or any other Resolve panel - the Studio licence is included BUT the price has gone up. ($100 more than the speed editor/studio combo was)

I actually would prefer the keyboard using the dial in my right hand and keys on left hand but that'd be a $900 Aussie buckaroo investment so "It's a no from me".

I'd probably buy a studio licence though if they made it cheaper as a stand alone.

The Studio license is $295, which is the same price it's been the last several years, if my history lessons haven't failed me.

The keyboard you're talking about should be coming down in price - I watched a video last night that said it was going to be $500 USD, but I'm not sure about the conversion to Aussie bucks.

At $500 USD, I am tempted to get it, not that I need another keyboard LOL. My desk is already cramped!

Not to steer anyone away from DVR but if you are a student you can get Adobe Master Collection / Adobe Cloud Suite for $20/month for the first year. Then $30/month after your first year until you complete your schooling. Then after you graduate or stop school it goes up to $60/month but hopefully by that time you are making screaming hoards of advertising money from your channel (if that's the plan) that the $60 a month won't be a big deal. I am still on the $30/month plan for right now. I find Adobe Premiere so easy to use it is hard to switch away from it.

It is all for what fits your needs budget. I think premier is a great program. I paid for Lightroom and PS years ago, and still have the legacy installs. I'm not on their cloud program. For DVR a one time purchase with upgrades included made more sense. At full price, I'm money ahead after 6 months for Adobe at $60/month

That's true. If I could learn DVR like Neo learned Kung Fu in the Matrix maybe I could make the switch too.
