I'm making this topic to talk about the Drift HD (1080) camera.
Features, tips, tricks, mods, quirks, everything related to it.
The idea is, everyone talks and shares info, then I edit the first post to get all important info sorted in one post. It will save time if somebody is looking for something specific and this gets over 1 page.
I have this camera so, if somebody has any kind of question, just ask away.

Quirks:
- When using the external MIC, make sure you connect it before pressing record, otherwise it will be ignored and the camera will use the internal MIC.
- If the camera stops recording for no apparent reason, with enough battery and card space left, just fully drain the battery, recharge and format the card with the camera.
- If the picture in the screen is wobbly or noisy or the camera complains about the card when using external power (Car adaptor or AC adaptor), you're using a bad quality adapter (noisy output). Throw the adapter away and get a good quality one. Try adaptors of brand names made for cellphones (SonyEricsson, Motorola, Samsung) and avoid anything with no brand or generic.

Hardware:
SoC: Zoran COACH nn (IIRC it was COACH10s)
RAM:
ROM:
LCD:
Image Sensor:
Misc: ISM receiver PN:??
Pinouts:
HDMI port: Plain micro HDMI type B, complies to spec.
MIC port: 2.5mm stereo miniplug, tip is mic(+), ring is sense (it should remain unconnected) next ring is mic(-)
DATA port: MiniUSB type B, plain USB, ID pin (Pin4) is used for a specific DRIFT accessory.
Battery: the slot looks like this [ 1 2 3]. Pin 1 is positive, pin 2 is unused in the camera, pin 3 is negative.

Taking it apart:
Remove the back cover, the battery and then the 6 screws on the bottom. It has no plastic latches to break, it opens pretty easily.
Special care should be taken with the internal mic and the image sensor cables.
(Video about this coming up).
