Well as some of you know I'm still out taking my lessons, hope to at least sit mod 1 in the next few weeks, was sitting at the test centre this morning parked the bikes up had a wee break while one of the guys swapped his radio over. Got back on the bike, must have been on it for 20 secs and... I fell off and dropped the bike :( If the world could have picked at time to open up and swallow me then that would have been it! Fell into the next guy on his bike banged my shoulder on the bike I think it was, knocked my head of the front wheel and landed on the side of my leg with the pocket full of stuff for my diabetes. How stupid am I?At least my armour took the brunt of it! Nice bruise on my leg, a sore shoulder, a knock to my confidence, scuff on my jackets shoulder and £50 out of pocket for a new wing mirror.

Anyone else done this because I feel really stupid because I fell off at a total of 0mph! At least the only thing broken was the mirror lol.

Re: Ah S&£@

not stupid at all! everyones done it and if they havent yet theyre gonna do it soon.

good thing is that you were wearing your gear and you werent injured big time.

get back on your bike asap to prove to yourself it was a one time thing :)

Got a lesson booked on Wednesday and next Sunday so hopefully I'll manage to stay upright this time lol. Couldn't believe how much it hurt been a while since I've feel off and kind vehicle with wheels.

Re: Ah S&£@

Don't worry too much, that's why you're doing training, to improve! :)

Although £50 for a new wing mirror is pretty steep, did the training school charge you for that?

^ That's the best advice.

Re: Ah S&£@

i seem to fall off quite a bit in my racing (broken thigh, broken wrists, broken shoulder, broken nose) so im knowledgeable when it comes to this.

Re: Ah S&£@

you didn't fall... you were struck by a pocket of strong gravity ;)

seriously.. brush it off. get back on the bike and ride on... let us know how things go wednesday. good luck

Aye that was the price including VAT from the dealer they got the bikes from.

Haha love it. Will be using that excuse from now on :p

Re: Ah S&£@

We've all done it and we'll all probably do it again at some point. I went to an advanced motoring club yesterday and someone dropped it in the car park. When I showed up I made sure about 5 times that my side stand was down before tipping the bike over :P

I dont remember hurting so much the next when i was a kid. I'm worse today than yesterday. Bruise is lovely, my shoulder is very tender and also my back and muscle hurt like hell :( No pain no gain I suppose haha!

Re: Ah S&£@

I remember pulling into a Honda dealer in my truck to check on some repairs for my bike. Some dude had just bought a brand new CBR1000 and started to pull out in front of me. No question I had the right of way, and when he hit the brakes down he went. Ended up helping him pick the bike up, watched him wheel it back to the shop, and even talked to him for a bit in the waiting room. Service writer said it was the first time he's ever seen a bike come in for repairs with 0 miles on the odometer..

Then there's the time I dropped my M50 (after years of experience) in my own damn driveway just backing out...

Hahaha I'd have been well gutted if that was my new CBR!

Well my wee b@llsup hasn't put me off biking one bit. Can't wait to get back out on my lesson on Wednesday, after all no one is perfect at riding. Not even Rossi lol.

Re: Ah S&£@

Thos accidents don't count, so you can forget all about it ever happening. ;)

Now, the bloke in Stratford Upon Avon years back when hundreds of bikes were parked on the waterfront, with thousands of people looking them over, he can't.

He started his shiney brand new Ducati up, revving it loads so all eyes were on him.

Then he let the clutch out, got about 1ft before the disc lock hit his caliper, and he flopped over to the side like a very expensive and smashy dead fish!

Well went out for my lesson yesterday and I'm pleased to say I managed to stay on the bike :D Nearly dropped it again though but I recovered it well. Have another one on Sunday so hopefully will be able to go practise MOD1 again and hopefully get that booked and out the way.

Re: Ah S&£@

I dropped mine the first time I rode it, I came to a stop and didn't put my feet down and toppled over lol.
