3 things I like about Harely Davidson

I didn't know that about Mercedes sending people to Harley to learn better painting. That's saying something.

I've always liked harleys and I can't say exactly why. I don't know if it's just from admiring them so much as a kid, or what. When I put those 1k miles on mine last week, I got more of a feel for her that day than any other time prior. Aside from taking a bit to get up to speed, it rode like a dream the whole way.
 
As an owner of two harleys (and a japanese bike, and an italian bike), I find it interesting that my favorite thing about my Harleys doesn't make any of OP's top three things.

Harleys have a particular character. The torque, the way they rev, the powerband, etc. In my opinion, it's the motor, even my V-Rod's liquid cooled motor, that is the most likeable thing about Harley's bikes.

Guess it's all subjective though.

The sound and the torque are all huge reasons I love riding Harleys. My Sportster has a feel and sound all its own and no other manufacturer comes close to that.

Theres just something about a Harley Davidson that I can't explain, maybe its the sound, maybe its the presence, or the relaxed cruiser style.

Its surprising how many younger people are buying Sportster to, as there so much you can do to them, and the community for them is huge!
Im going to a club event in a few weeks at silverstone and they are expecting 1000+ bikes to be lapping the track.
I have yet to find any guys my age (28) in my area riding sportsters. The presence of young harley/sportster/dyna riders in social media is pretty surprising though.

That's cause we've all outgrown the Sportsters. I'm 29 and have been in love with my V-Rod since I picked it up last year.

Hah might be true for up where you're at. I can't say I've ever seen a V-Rod on the road. No doubt that folks who pick up sportsters outgrow them pretty quickly but part of why I went with it over a 48 or dyna was that I wouldnt have to restrain myself from cranking the throttle. :D
 
Sporty's are fun too, no doubt. I've got a 1997 Sportster S (with the two front brakes and the adjustable front and rear suspension).

I bought it when I sold my other V-Rod. Did a 2" tank lift, and then stopped when I realized I should be motovlogging the mods. Up on the list still is a handlebar switch (going drag bar instead of the stock buckhorn style), and new grips. Also doing a ignition and coil relocation. All parts are in... so... stay tuned for the video haha.

I really, really, really, really, enjoy the sound of a low idling carburetted 1200 sporty. I'm thinking of adding a kick-start to it just to go proper olskool cool.

That definitely isn't the case in the UK.
Im a member of a sportster group with around 3500 members across the UK and it is primarily 35-55 yr old riders.
I haven't seen very many under 35 and none as young as me yet.

It's a common factor though that most of the members have chosen the sportster because of its customisation ability and handling over some of the larger Harleys.

I would love a V-Rod in future though, although not sure how well it would do as a daily rider?
 
I'm looking to get my full license soon and went to my local HD showroom and like the look of the 883's, but am seriously considering a street 750. Has anyone got any experience of these? I like the styling, they seem a bit more nimble than the cruisers and the price is good too
 
I did a review of the Street Rod 750a and got some feedback from over in Asia. Seems to have been highly anticipated back when it rolled out.

I hear the power may be a bit more for the Street Rod 750a vs. the Street 750.

If you can, test both back to back.

Is the review on your channel? I'll check it out. Yeah I saw the street rod too, the front forks are different but I didn't know about power difference. I'm not totally decided yet, I just know the street rod cost more so it put me off aha. Being a student sucks :( Upgrading from a 125 to a 750 of any description will surely be a substantial power spike regardless but I guess you are right I should test them and see which suits best

Well... I liked my V-Rod as a daily rider so much, that within a year I bought a second one.

Yeah, the V-Rod was great. I guess too good for H-D. They could have really used that powertrain in other type of bikes.
 
Yesterday i watched a vid about a customized 883 with gold hard candy paint, looked so sweet, and an unbeliveble 240 mm rear tire, vance and hines exhaust, lower and softer sit, wow simply a monster!, a beautiful monster...
