What is the best advice you would give to a new rider?
Grabbing a handful of brakes is going to be instinctive when someone pulls out in front of you. Practice emergency braking somewhere safe and try to use two fingers everytime you brake the bike to develop muscle memory.
Best piece of advice one could give to ANYONE that participates in traffic. I can't count the times they miss my car, and I don't drive econoboxes either.
