Just wondering if anyone has tried a geforce and a quadro fx video card back to back and how it compares with video work and rendering?

Are you referring to using the GPU for rendering as opposed to CPU? If yes, I heard that GPU rendering is quicker but quality does drop as oppose to CPU based rendering. Dont know why exactly tho...

Quality doesn't change, at least in Sony Vegas it doesn't.

SOme GPU's can render faster than the CPU but they need to be designed for that. Most GPUs on the market are designed for gaming so 3D work. Many CPU's will out perform these cards.

When I render with the GPU it still uses 100% of my CPU. It is used as a supporting tool for special effects and overlays while the CPU still does the bulk of the heavy lifting.

It works really well in Sony Vegas as long as you have a driver that's stable for it.

Monster CPU's don't even scratch the potential of even very poor GPU's in specific rendering tasks.
