Pay Attention To The Road!

This is great advice. I find myself stuttering or stalling when I need the brain cycles for driving. It doesn't make for great video, but it gets me across the street without dying.

I'd go one step further to say do not over analyze what everyone else is doing on the road.
Perceive, plan, move.
Do not sit and focus on the lady using her phone, every second you focus on what she is doing you are missing something vital that could be happening around you. Further, do not let what others are doing break your focus on riding IE Do not fly into a rage, and take off, you may end up much worse off. At that point who becomes the idiot? Plenty of videos on youtube from motovloggers who have made these mistakes, and the more people who get into vlogging, the more common these videos are becoming.

Not necessarily. Rossi could get a bike across the Snake in (say) ten minutes. Even giving it every ounce youd not match it, and we'd all clock different times as flat out straight is easy enough, corners is where it takes skill, experience and training.

Which snake is this? I've ridden the Mulholland Snake in 4 minutes at a casual pace. The fast guys probably do it in 3.

The Snake Pass, Derbyshire UK. Also known as the A57. Search my vids, there's a couple of me riding it (at the speed limit) :)

It's a stunning view heading East to West as you come out of the trees and the view down the valley opens up.

Midweek is the time to ride it. Weekend is too busy to enjoy it, regardless of the talent of other road users.

I had my camera set to take a pic every 5 seconds. Looked towards a great view and held my head there for 5 seconds to make sure I got the pic - nearly ran into a cliff face. Not my smartest moment
Ohhhh sh*t. I'm sure you really value that photo now, haha!

Vs!

I wish. I formatted the card before saving any of the pics I took :)

Got my first taste of that last weekend, when I rode across it for the first time. Came out into view of the valley and wished that there wasn't as many clouds. And that it was a bit warmer.

I know some good rides starting in Glossop, give me a shout if you fancy one. If you're free on a weekday it's easier for me.

If I vlog crossing a roundabout then there are often cuts as I go round of you see me approach then immediately exit.

Most people when they motovlog pay attention to the road. Since I have started I have found that it is very easy to get side tracked and not pay attention to your surroundings. So, as a friendly reminder making good videos is one thing, but Please stay safe when vlogging everyone. Value your life more than your videos!
Yeah, I totally understand. It sometimes burdens my video because I'll be talking and.... then......... ......... ....... I...... Just go silent. And....... I..... Talk....... Like this. It's kinda hard. I believe, that is good though, just annoying.

It gets easier with time. I still go silent or pause for a moment, but for the most part I can do one-take 10-minute vlogs pretty easily at this point without much editing of the footage. Most of my work is in adding flavor and some comedy in post.

After a ouple of yearsnow, I have to say it is a lot easier. There are technical riding elements that need full concentration that happen occasionally, just like in a car and I guess they occur more often the faster you go and the closer to cars you ride
