Because I'm an idiot, this week I bought myself a nice sensible Winter bike.
A filthy great tuned up Honda VTR 1000 Firestorm.
It's my first ever V-twin, so that was enough to contend with, but this beast was wearing these:
Yes, Pirelli Super Corsa's - just right for wet icy December roads.
So after surviving a week with the bike trying to murder me at every possibly opportunity, I finally slithered into a garage and got a set of Pirelli Angel GT's on:
Instant transformation, even before I've ran them in! Yes, the steering has slowed down a lot, but I'll soon get used to that. They feel so stable, and even on todays wet roads I was able to have a good, confident play with the bike at last!
I've had Angel ST's on my ZX9R for the last few Winters, and the GT's are supposed to be the same but longer lasting and with more wet grip. If they're as good as the ST I'll be happy, to be honest!
So what are you wearing this Winter? Have you even been stupid enough to run a bike on trackday tyres in December?
