Hey Everybody...

Just thought I would start hanging out here and pick up some tricks of the trade in an effort to up my game... Plus, I'm looking to participate in the motovlogging community a bit more than I have up to this point... Some of you may already know me, but for those who don't, I'm GreyMareSS... I'm a motovlogger in the mitten state of Michigan... I've been on Youtube since 2011 but didn't start vlogging until 2013... I got off to a rocky start and most of the 2013 riding videos were scraped... For the most part, 2013 was spent just making all the usual mistakes and finding my feet... Needless to say, not much remains posted from the 2013 riding season...

So, it would be fair to say that I started in earnest in the spring of 2014... I spent all winter studying up by watching all you guys... I learned a whole bunch and got familiar with the motovlogging community in a general sense... Once the snow melted and the salt washed off the roads, I hit the streets running... I improved in all areas involved as the 2014 riding season progressed... The videos are still a bit rough around the edges but aren't as bad as the 2013 season...

I'm looking forward to greater participation within the motovlogger community and getting to know you all better and meeting those of you who I haven't met already... Thank you for having me...

It occurred to me that I should also let you guys know what I ride and what set-up I'm using... As you can tell from the avatar I make videos from three different vehicles... I ride a 2002 Honda CBR 954rr on the street... This is where most of my videos are made from... I also ride a 2009 Yamaha Raptor 700r, as Michigan is loaded with trails, so I also vlog in the dirt... Finally, I drive a 2010 Chevy Camaro SS and do a handful of videos with it... I combine the three and post the videos in separate sections on my Youtube channel... Pretty simple...

I use a pair of GoPro Hero 3+ Black Edition cameras as my primary and secondary view cameras... I also have a pair of GoPro Hero Original that I use for extra angles and guest cameraman views... (Cam-a-friend program)

I do most of my editing with Sony Movie Studio Platinum 12 on my desktop but I also use Sony Movie Studio Platinum 13 on my laptop when doing road trips...

sounds like you are well prepared! I have done some preparing also and hope my first videos turn out alright, I will be starting shortly. Good luck to you and ride safe!

Welcome back :) ... nice vlogs :D ! I like your "free falling" vlog the most so far :p . I haven't done one of those (yet ~_~ ), but I have done the disk lock take-off (and go) trick >_> . The music fits in nicely... nice :D !

I did the same with my first three vlogs (if I'm reading the above right)... didn't like what I did, so I deleted them - they no longer exist ~o~ (except in YouTube virtual[ly forever] heaven) That's how some of us learn along the way, I guess :o .....

Subbed :) . Looking forward to watching more - cheers :) !~

Thanks rsixmaniac... best advise I can give is start slow and stick with things you know... practice those things you don't know and know that everyone starts out shaky and gets better with time and repetition... I'm sure you'll do fine...

To be honest... I started in 2013... and had a whole season of crap videos... I basically scrapped the whole season, I took what I learned and started over in 2014... I kept it simple and worked to learn new tricks with every video... I still have a long way to go and still find that I scrap nearly 70% of my recorded footage... so don't feel bad about coming away from a ride with poor footage... video is a percentage game like photography... you may need to take 10 pictures to get one good one...
