getting started/ kickstarter?

yeah I don't know now, I mean it's kind of a cool idea, and its typical me that I'd be the one to come up with it when no one else ever had the thought but comments like the one above yours just make me feel like a worthless POS to think of it, like its some joke and that no one would take it seriously.
Trust me, many have come up with the idea to have strangers give them money to start doing motovlogging.

You'll have to grow some thick skin if you want to make enough money via video making on YouTube because there are plenty other people like Arctic Pride who will make even worse comments to your videos. I'm not saying this because of your personal channel/efforts, I'm just saying this because online trolls are inevitable. Even if you had the best channel in the world, there will be people trying to bring you down. That's just life unfortunately.

Oh believe me I know that well, I'd write it out here but you probably don't want to read it, so suffice it to say I know random needless hate better than anything else.

We all work for our stuff why should anyone get a free pass to start something we invest time and money into.

I'd be happy to go over your resume for you.

at least I'm not some tweaker sitting at home getting stoned off of welfare money, I'm actually trying to better myself and not looking to the government for handouts.. or like my brother in law's uncle that has 5 kids he doesn't take care of is on welfare and just went out and bought a boat

OtisENGINEunity, I feel for 'ya but honesty, YouTube pays squat for whatever little money a person may make. It might be able to buy a motorcycle tank of gas after while (if a person is partway successful), but that's pretty much it.

When I first started YouTube, I had all the dreams of making money like some of my favorite YouTube stars. After while, though, I realized that you have to be in one of the top 10 of what you do or else there will be nothing to cash in on. Big bubble burster...

...so I un-monetized all of my YouTube videos because of the nothing I was making and because of YouTube's multiple policy changes (they have ticked me off more than one once). Now, I don't worry about how many views have amounting to how many pennies it may give - I just do it for fun.

I know that's not helping your situation out much, but I really think you have high hopes on something that will let you down in the long run, a little like it did for me.

...after all, if everyone was able to make at least $1,300 in one month off of YouTube, who wouldn't want to do quit their day job :) ???.....

I never did it for fun, just made some videos for me and my friends to look at when riding, and now im nearly at 500subs :)

OtisENGINEuity My Post didn't mean to offend i was giving my open opinion.I think Kickstarter and Indigogo are great for helping people reach his/her goals.
Youtube isn't really a cash cow, unless you a girl with big boobs and want to teach people Japanese and all you do is show rediclious amounts of cleavage for
all the 14yo boys on youtube. ( youtube user MissHannahMinx )Youtube has a lot of trolls and normally the worst are serial trolls who really go out of the way to find ways to annoy you.

I didn't say you did. what you said was an honest opinion and something I had thought myself. believe me it probably won't happen. I'm still waiting for a little more feedback but I've already talked to Motonosity and ChaseOnTwoWheels about it and while both think it's a kind of cool concept both have also stated that without a preattached user base that really like me, the odds of anyone wanting to give me money are extremely slim. I've asked a few of the other big names their opinions as well and am waiting to see if they message me back.
As it sits, it probably won't happen.

I understand what you guys are saying about how it doesn't pay that much, you have to be TotalBiscuit or PewdPie (is that how you spell it I've never watched his shit) to even make a good amount as a gamer... well Jesse Cox makes enough to comfortably live in Marina Del Ray with about 400k subs but that's neither here nor there... (TB has over 1.5 million on 1 channel and onver 750k on another). Yes I get most people do it as a side thing but that's typically because with a regular job they don't have the time to devote to doing it that much, hell look at eveRide and being jobless atm yet how little he's getting put out.. but I blame that on his Suzuki being down.

Now on a side note, unrelated topic.... What do you guys think of using a type of bike that you don't see everyday? Would it work out because it is a different bike or would it be a bomb because most people either want the most popular dirt bikes or most popular crotch rockets or Harleys? Why do I ask? I'm a big Moto Guzzi, Aprilia, classic Triumph/Norton fan.

Many that have followed me since the beginning know that I want to get a bike and a license, but also know that I can't due to priorities. If anything, I need to upgrade my rig to the tone of 1500 and my software to the tone of 250 so I can add the new Sony action cam to the tone of 350, to my arsenal. Am I going around asking for money? No. I'd rather make my own.

And yet another one wants to make their living on YouTube just starting out. That is the wrong motivation. Everyone here started their channel because they wanted to have fun and share their lives / passion with others. Then some actually grew quite a bit and could pay a few bills!

I would employ you to check out socialblade. Here, a direct link to Jakethegardensnake's channel on that stats site: http://socialblade.com/youtube/user/TheGardensnake

Now check out the estimated earnings. Jake is, at least for now, the biggest motovlogger out there. Yet it is possible for him to bring in well below a 1000 dollars in a month. You can't live off that. He sells RHOK, and that in combination with his channel brings in enough. Please do not be tempted to look at the top end of the earnings scale. If I look at my own numbers you are closer to that low end than the high end. Also you can not expect to rise to his level in a short time. I myself am not a motovlogger yet, but I do take pride in what I do, and have 280 ish subs as of right now. You can research me on Socialblade too, and you will find out I am not in this for the money. If I was, I'd be gone like everyone else that has that mindset. This hobby is fun, sometimes hard work, but it always pays off. Pays off in interaction with fellow human beings that have the same mindset. The MotoVlog community is awesome, and supporting, even to one that can't ride just yet.

In short: You take YouTube up for a hobby or leave it alone. Because you are setting yourself up for a huge wake-up call once you start vlogging. You will start to get disinterested because no one seems to care about your videos, and fall off the face of YouTube like so many other money hungry fools. Or, you rise to the top because your videos are awesome, and everyone want's to watch them! Only one way to find out... Find a job, get some money, get the stuff you need and start sharing your passion!

I take that back it was Mototrippin that got back to me not Motonosity... my mistake.

Is it just me or is everyone glossing over the part where I said "or at the very least it might help me gain some confidence" ??? meaning self confidence/self worth seeing that people like what I want to do.

Either way mate if you got a bike you wouldnt regret it, The freedom, the instant connection with others around you on bikes, the stress relief and you wouldnt be depressed while riding mate :)

Channels with Popular model bikes.. R1, Gsxr 1000, BMW, wr250R etc are more popular because people want to learn more about the model of bike they like / may one day ownas for the subs etc you mentioned before, pewdiePie made (now i estimate this based on my averages) 2.4Million USD last year

I have a feeling it doesn't scale that well or he'd probably stop doing it. there's not many people in the US that make that kind of money.

okay I was wrong, he's making about 192k a month plus whatever he makes off of streams... that is far more than any one person should be able to make, let alone off of something so stupid. almost 28 million subs... that's insane... makes you worry about how stupid the world is getting. but think of this, if that's how much youtube is willing to pay him, think of the billions they are making off of him alone each year... scary that a company can make so much, but then they probably have a ton going out in lawyer fees alone.

Self-esteem is something at comes from within... I know that because I went through a tough period in my life (a somewhat different one, though), too. The only person that can dig yourself out of a hole you might be in is yourself - be it riding a motorcycle or whatever that can help. Hopefully you can find the right thing in life that's able to get you to where you want to be :) .....

nah dude i said from the start getting a bike would be one of the best things you everr do mate :) regardless of yt success you will have so much fun ona bike meeting new friends going to new places :)

Let me tell you something : Motorcycle can costs a lot of money.
If you are not a DIY man, maintenance can be a hole in a pocket.
What about insurance too?
